🏆👉 Australia won the FIFA World Cup Group D defeating Denmark on Wednesday 30 November 2022 at the Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah, Qatar.  This is a superb victory because Australia got their pass to the Round of 16, thanks to Mathew Leckie’s goal in the 60th minute. Overall the Australians deserved the result. Great bitterness instead for Denmark. Australia will face the first of Group C in the Round of 16.

  •  Italian Serie A players called up in this game

🇩🇰 Denmark:   Simon Kjaer (Milan) listed as a substitute
Joakim Mæhle (Atalanta) played until the 70th minute and was replaced by Andreas Cornelius.

🇦🇺 Australia:  Fran Karacic (Brescia) listed as a substitute
Ajdin Hrustic (Hellas Verona) played from the 89th minute after replacing Mathew Leckie.

Australia opened the score in the 60th minute. Mathew Leckie defeated Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel with a left-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Riley McGree.

Stats before the game. This is the second meeting between Australia and Denmark at the World Cup, following a 1-1 draw in the group stage in 2018. Australia have won just one of their four games (D1 L2) against Denmark in all competitions – the 1-0 win in a June 2010 friendly. Australia have lost eight of their last 11 matches (W1 D2) against European sides at the World Cup, always conceding at least one goal in the run. At the same time, one of the three matches in which the Australians avoided defeat was against Denmark in 2018 (1-1). Denmark have not won in five matches (D4 L1) at the World Cup, or since the success against Peru, on matchday one, in 2018; moreover, following the defeat against France, the red and whites could lose back-to-back group stage matches for the first time in the competition.

🏆👉 France won the FIFA World Cup Group D defeating Denmark on Saturday 26 November 2022 at the Ras Abu Aboud Stadium (Stadium 974) in Doha, Qatar. After the large debut victory over Australia (4-1), France is the first national team to reach the Round of 16 of the World Cup with a match to spare. Great celebration for the three AC Milan players 2 playing for France are Olivier Giroud and Theo Hernandez while Simon Kjaer for Denmark.

Olivier Giroud equaled Thierry Henry, after the game against Australia, as France’s 1st top goalscorer, both with 51 goals.

  •  Italian Serie A players called up in this game

🇫🇷 France:  Theo Hernández (Milan) assist for Kylian Mbappé’s goal and played all 90 minutes.
Adrien Rabiot (Juventus) played all 90 minutes
Olivier Giroud (Milan) played until the 63rd minute and was replaced by Marcus Thuram.

🇩🇰 Denmark:   Simon Kjaer (Milan) listed as a substitute
Joakim Mæhle (Atalanta) played all 90 minutes

France opened the score in the 61st minute. Forward Kylian Mbappé defeated Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel with a right-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Theo Hernández. This is a historic goal because Mbappé at 23 years and 340 days scored his 30th goal with the French team.

France sealed the game in the 86th minute. Guess who is the hero? Yep! It is again “the Wonder Boy” Kylian Mbappé scoring from very close range with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Antoine Griezmann.

Stats before the game: This will be the fourth meeting between France and Denmark at the World Cup, all in the group stage. Les Bleus have won the tournament on two of the previous occasions they have faced Denmark (1998 and 2018), with the other coming as holders in 2002. Denmark have won their last two meetings with France in all competitions, both in the 2022 Nations League. The red and white have never achieved three in a row against Les Bleus, while neither side have ever beaten France three times in the same calendar year. This is the third time Denmark have faced the reigning world champions at the World Cup: they lost 3-2 to Brazil in the 1998 quarter-finals, before winning against France 2-0 in the 2002 group stage. France have won all of their last five World Cup matches and have never achieved six in a row in the tournament, the last country to do so was Spain in 2010.

🏆👉  Lineup FRANCIA (4-2-3-1): Lloris; Koundé, Varane, Upamecano, T.Hernandez; Tchouaméni, Rabiot: Dembélé, Griezmann, Mbappé; Giroud.
