🏆👉 Mexico and Poland ended the FIFA World Cup Group C with a goalless draw on Tuesday 22 November 2022 at the Ras Abu Aboud Stadium in Doha, Qatar.  Mexico have not lost their first game in World Cup since 1994.   The only World Cup precedent between Mexico and Poland occurred in the group stage of the 1978 edition: the match finished with a 3-1 victory for Poland. This is not a good result considering Argentina, one of the favorites, lost against Saudi Arabia

The duel between 2 Napoli players, Mexican forward Hirving “El Chucky” Lozano and Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

In the 58th minute, Poland forward Robert Lewandowski failed to convert a penalty after goalkeeper Guillermo “Memo” Ochoa saved it in the bottom right corner. The penalty is conceded by Héctor Moreno following a foul on Lewandowski.

Stats before the game. Mexico will participate in the World Cup for the 17th time, with Qatar 2022 which will be the eighth consecutive presence in an edition of the world championship. No team has played as many matches as Mexico (57) at the World Cup without ever reaching the final. Mexico have progressed from the group stage in each of their last eight World Cup appearances, last failing in 1978. The Mexicans have also won their opening group stage match in five of the last six FIFA World Cups (D1 ). Mexico (eight) collected more clean sheets than any other national team during the third round of CONCACAF qualifying for this year’s World Cup; only Canada, who finished top of the group, conceded fewer goals (seven) in that stage than the Mexicans (eight). Poland qualified for the ninth time for a World Cup edition; however, the Poles have not progressed beyond the group stage since 1986 and have lost eight of their last 11 matches in the tournament.
