🏆👉 Brazil won the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 crushing South Korea on Monday 5 December 2022 at the Ras Abu Aboud Stadium (Stadium 974) in Doha, Qatar. Brazil will face Croatia in the quarter-finals, who won against Japan on penalties. Brazil dominant in this Round of 16: in the first half, poker by Vinicius, Neymar, Richarlison, and Paquetà. In the second half, Paik responded with the honor goal. Yet, there was no story in Doha: Seleção legitimately reached the Quarterfinals.
An emotional moment at the end of the game, a moving tribute to Pelé from the players of Brazil. Neymar and Danilo carried a banner on the pitch with the image of the historic Seleção striker, undergoing palliative care at the Albert Einstein hospital in São Paulo. Collective embrace of the green and gold national team dedicated to ’O Rey.
This is the eighth meeting between Brazil and South Korea, the first in an official match between the sides. Brazil have won six of their previous seven games (L1), including the last 5-1 last June.

✅ Stats before the game. South Korea has never beaten a South American national team at the World Cup, drawing twice and losing four. Brazil have lost four of their last 10 World Cup games (W5, D1) – their previous four defeats had instead come in 36 games (W26, D6). This will be South Korea’s first knockout match at a World Cup since 2010, when they were eliminated by Uruguay in the round of 16 (1-2). Previously, they won just one of their five matches immediately after the group stage in the competition (D1 L3), in 2002 against Italy. Brazil have progressed to the last 16 on all of the last seven occasions they have contested them at the World Cup, only failing to win in the 90 minutes and advancing only after a 2014 shoot-out against Chile. Last time they were eliminated to this point in the tournament dates back to the 1990 against Argentina.
🏆👉 Lineup BRAZIL (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Militao, Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Danilo; Paquetà, Casemiro; Raphina, Neymar, Vinicius; Richarlison.
🏆👉 Lineup SOUTH KOREA (4-4-2): Kim-Guy Seung; Kim Jinsu, Kim-Minjae, Kim-Moonhwan, Kim-Younggwon; Jung. Hwang Inbeon, Lee; Son H, Cho.
