✅   Stats before the game: This is Tunisia’s third meeting with Australia in all competitions: Australia won 3-0 in a friendly in October 1997, before Tunisia’s 2-0 success in the 2005 Confederations Cup.  Australia are facing an African team for only the second time at the World Cup (18th match in total) – following a 1-1 draw with Ghana in 2010.
Against Denmark in the previous match, Tunisia kept only the second clean sheet in 16 games at the World Cup: both clean sheets came in matches that ended 0-0 (including against Germany in 1978).  Australia have lost six of their last seven World Cup matches (D1), conceding 18 goals in the period. He could miss both the first two races of a World Cup edition for the third time, after 1974 and 2014.  Tunisia went unbeaten in two consecutive matches for the first time at the World Cup (W1, D1). However, they lost four of their five matches in Matchday 2 of the group stage, with the exception of a 1-1 draw against Belgium in 2002.
