What’s currently at stake after Serie A Week 37?
Champions League zone

Napoli’s victory in Pisa guarantees them a place in next season’s Champions League with one match remaining. The Neapolitans now sit at 73 points, while AC Milan and Roma follow closely with 70 points each after winning their matches against Genoa and Lazio. Juventus, on the other hand, suffered a home defeat to Fiorentina and are now out of the Champions League contention. Additionally, the Bianconeri are currently tied at 68 points with Como, based on their head-to-head record against them.

  • Milan is still in control of their own fate: a win on the final day against Cagliari would secure them a Champions League spot.

  • Roma, meanwhile, needs to secure a victory in Verona to avoid relying on the outcomes of Como and Juventus, who will be facing Cremonese and Torino respectively next weekend.

Now, let’s delve into the complexities of the mathematics involved.

What are Juventus’s chances? They need to win the Turin derby and hope for favorable outcomes. What kind of hope? Either a three-way tie, which could happen if Milan and Roma draw, or a two-way tie with one of them. In both scenarios, Juve would have the upper hand. If all four contenders end up with 71 points, Milan and Como would qualify for the Champions League, leaving Juve in fifth and Roma in sixth. Como would excel in the head-to-head matchups and would be ahead if Milan and Juve ended up in a three-way tie, as well as in a tie with Roma. Without Juve, Como would fall behind both Milan and Roma if they ended up with equal points.

✅    PROMOTION TO SERIE A FROM SERIE B

Venezia and Frosinone have officially achieved automatic promotion to Serie A for the 2026-27 season, finishing in first and second place in Serie B, respectively. The final third spot will be decided through the promotion play-offs, with semi-finalists including Monza, Palermo, Catanzaro, and Juve Stabia.
