Hellas Verona living a nightmare.  Genoa won the  Serie A Week 12 game on Friday 10 November 2023 at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa, Italy. Surely, this is an important victory for Genoa who obtained three valuable points in the direct clash with Verona. Radu Dragusin’s volley on an assist from Haps decided in the first half. Genoa took home the entire prize while this is the fifth consecutive defeat for Verona, who after the double victory in the first two matchdays have only collected two draws in the last nine matchdays.

Genoa opened the score in the 44th minute. Radu Dragusin defeated Hellas Verona goalkeeper with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Ridgeciano Haps.

✅  Stats before the game: Verona remained unbeaten in their last four matches against Genoa in Serie A (1W, 3D), after having lost three of the previous four (1W). Genoa have remained unbeaten in their last eight home matches against Verona in Serie A (6W, 2D), the Scaligeri’s last success against Grifone at the Ferraris in the tournament dates back to 3 December 1989 (1-0 with Osvaldo Bagnoli on the bench). Genoa have won two of their last three league games at the Ferraris (L1), after having achieved only three successes in the previous 23 Serie A home games (N9, L11). As of the beginning of September 2023, no team has earned fewer points than Verona in Serie A: two in nine matches, equal to Salernitana.
Verona have lost their last four championship matches, since their return to Serie A (from 2019/20) only once have the Scaligeri suffered more defeats in a row in the tournament (10 between September and November 2022).

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Sassuolo, 15th position with 11 points and a negative goal difference of -5
Salernitana, 20th position with 4 points and a positive goal difference of +16

Sassuolo and Salernitana ended the Serie A Week 12 game with a draw on Friday 10 November 2023 at the Mapei Stadium in Sassuolo, Italy. With one point gained, Salernitana remained in the last position but brought home a great performance. Sassuolo is in 14th position with one point more than Genoa.

A very intense and heated match with Salernitana immediately taking a double lead thanks to goals from Ikwuemesi after 5 minutes and from Boulaye Dia. During the match, Dionisi’s team grew with a great Thorstvedt who scored his first brace in Serie A. Many opportunities in the second half especially for Sassuolo, impeccable goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa was in great form and denied the goal several times saving his teammates.

We return to the pitch after the national break. Sassuolo the match against Empoli is on Sunday 26 November, Salernitana will play the day before against Lazio.

What a quick start! Salernitana opened the score in the 5th minute. Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi defeated Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli with a right-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Pasquale Mazzocchi.

Sassuolo conceded another goal in the 17th minute. Boulaye Dia scored with a right-footed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Loum Tchaouna.

Sassuolo shortened the distance in the 36th minute before ending the first half.  Kristian Thorstvedt defeated Salernitana goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa from very close range with a left-footed shot to the center. The headed assist is by Grégoire Defrel.

Sassuolo equalized in the 53rd minute. It is Kristian Thorstvedt to score a brace with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Matías Viña.

✅    Stats before the game: After remaining unbeaten in the first three matches against Salernitana in Serie A (2W, 1D), Sassuolo lost the most recent match against the Campania region (0-3 against Arechi on 22 April). Sassuolo won both matches at the MAPEI Stadium against Salernitana in Serie A without conceding any goals and scoring six; among the teams against which the neroverdi boast 100% home successes, only against Crotone (three) have they played more matches in the tournament.  One of the two largest victories recorded by Sassuolo in Serie A came against Salernitana: 5-0 on 2 October 2022, the other against Genoa on 29 July 2020 (also in that case 5-0 and both at the MAPEI Stadium). Sassuolo have lost six matches in this championship (W3, D2), only once have they suffered more defeats in their first 11 Serie A matches of the season (seven in 2017/18). Salernitana is one of three teams that have not yet won any match this season in the top five European leagues, together with Lyon and Almería. In case of failure in this match, they would become the 30th team in the history of Serie A with zero successes in the first 12 matches of the season – of these only three avoided relegation at the end of the championship (Cagliari 2005/06, Varese 1970/ 71 and the Triestina 1942/43).

👉  Lineup Sassuolo (4-2-3-1): Consigli; Toljan, Erlic, Ferrari, Vina; Boloca, Thorstvedt; Berardi, Castillejo, Defrel; Pinamonti.

👉  Lineup Salernitana (4-3-2-1): Ochoa; Daniliuc, Fazio, Pirola, Mazzocchi; Coulibaly, Bohinen, Maggiore; Tchaouna, Ikwuemesi; Dia.

👉    Hello, my friends. Here are the 2023-2024 Italian Serie A Serie A Week 11 RESULTS / Eleventh Round on Friday 3, Saturday 4, Sunday 5, and Monday 6 November 2023.  The battle for the Scudetto apparently is a three-way race.   Yet, the situation has changed a little bit.  Inter are consolidating as the sole leader with 28 points.  The bad news is for AC Milan who were in the 2nd position and after losing the home game against Udinese stepped down to the 3rd position remaining with 22 points.  Now, it is Juventus with 26 points who are challenging directly Inter because they are only -2 points below  Inter

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Sassuolo, 14th position with 11 points and a negative goal difference of -4
Torino, 13th position with 12 points and a negative goal difference of -5

Torino won the Serie A Week 11 game on Monday 6 November 2023 at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium in Turin, Italy. Second consecutive victory for Torino, who after Lecce also found home success after two months. Surely, this is a deserved victory for Torino, who after Antonio Sanabria took the lead at the start, suffered an equalizer from Thorstvedt in one of Sassuolo’s rare offensive outings. In the second half Tameze made his second assist of the evening by serving the ball to Vlasic to make it 2-1, who came close to securing the goal several times but risked it in the final with the crossbar hit by Laurientè.

Torino opened the score with a fast goal in the 5th minute. Antonio Sanabria defeated Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli with a left footed shot to the center. The assist is by Adrien Tameze.

Sassuolo equalized in the 18th minute. Kristian Thorstvedt defeated Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic with a left-footed to the top left corner. The assist is by Domenico Berardi.

Torino took the lead in the 68th minute. Nikola Vlasic scored with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Adrien Tameze.

Stats before the game: Sassuolo have drawn eight of their 20 Serie A matches against Torino (4W, 8P), only against Cagliari (10) and Roma (nine) have the neroverdi had more X signs in the top division – in particular in this match there are there have been two draws in the last three matches. After winning six of their first eight home games against Sassuolo in Serie A (2P), Torino have won just one point in the two most recent ones – the granata missed out on scoring in the last home match against the neroverdi and they have never been without a goal against the Emilians twice in a row at the Olimpico Grande Torino. Torino has scored seven goals in this championship; should they remain empty, it would be one of the worst five starts for the Granata team after 11 Serie A matches this season: six goals in 1968/69, 2002/03 and 2006/07, seven in 2014/15. Torino have won only one of their first five home games this season (D3, L1); in the era of three points for a win only three times did the granata achieve a single success, or none at all, in the first six home Serie A games of the season (one in 2006/07 and 2013/14, zero in 2020/21).

👉 Lineup TORINO (3-5-2): Milinkovic Savic; Tameze, Buongiorno, Rodriguez; Bellanova, Linetty, Ricci, Ilic, Vojvoda; Sanabria, Zapata.

👉 Lineup SASSUOLO (4-2-3-1): Consigli; Vina, Ferrari, Erlic, Toljan; Thorstvedt, Boloca; Laurientè, Bajrami, Berardi; Pinamonti.
