Thanks to one win and three draws, Fiorentina remained unbeaten in their last four home games against Juventus in Serie A; the Viola have not gone through more home games without defeat against the Bianconeri in the tournament since the period between 1983 and 1992 (10). After an unbeaten run that lasted five games (W4, D1), Fiorentina lost their two most recent Serie A games, without scoring any goals; the Viola have not suffered three defeats in a row without scoring a goal since May 2019 (four in that case). Fiorentina failed to score in their last home Serie A match (0-2 against Empoli) and have not been without a goal for two home games in a row in the competition since April-May 2019 (five in that case). Juventus have kept five consecutive clean sheets in Serie A for the first time since the period between October 2022 and January 2023, in which case the Bianconeri achieved eight clean sheets in a row – Allegri’s team have collected seven clean sheets so far and he has never done better in the first 10 Serie A matches of the season.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Lecce, 11th position with 13 points and a negative goal difference of -2
AS Roma, 9th position with 14 points and a positive goal difference of +7

AS Roma with a sprint race to climb to the top positions won in extreis the Serie A Week 11 game on Sunday 5 November 2023 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. A deadly one-two in full injury time. Azmoun and Romelu Lukaku overturned the result, allowing Mourinho’s team to regain success and get closer to the Europe zone. Lecce, who put in a convincing performance and had cherished the feat after Almqvist’s lead, were bitterly disappointed.

On the twelfth matchday, Mourinho’s boys are expected by the Capital derby while D’Aversa’s team will host Milan.

Lecce surprised the Roman gladiators by open the score in the 72nd minute. It is Pontus Almqvist to defeat AS Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio with a left footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Lameck Banda.

The hero! Big Rom scored the winner goal in the 94thminute.

✅   Stats before the game: Roma have won 23 of 34 Serie A matches against Lecce (9N, 2L), only Inter (26) have managed to beat the Salento team more times in the top flight – moreover, among the teams faced at least 10 times by the Apulian team in the tournament, Lecce achieved fewer successes against anyone than against the Romans (two). Roma have won 82% of their Serie A home games against Lecce (14W, 2D, 1L); among the teams faced at least 15 times at home, the Romans have a better success percentage only against Empoli in the competition (88%). Roma have only gained 14 points so far in the league and for the Giallorossi it is the worst result after the first 10 seasonal matches in Serie A since 2012/13; in case of defeat, however, it would be the worst start since 2009/10 (14 points after 11 matches of the season). After conceding goals in six consecutive home league games, Roma have kept a clean sheet and won in all of their last three; the Giallorossi have not achieved consecutive home clean sheets in Serie A since the period between January and March 2023 (in that case five victories without goals conceded). After remaining unbeaten in the first five matches of this championship (W3, D2), Lecce have suffered three defeats in the five most recent ones (D2); these are as many defeats as those suffered in the previous 12 matches played in Serie A.

Genoa, 14th position with 11 points and a negative goal difference of -3

Cagliari won the Serie A Week 11 game on Sunday 5 November 2023 at the Sardegna Arena in Cagliari, Italy. Genoa’s situation, however, remained unchanged.

After a dull first half, in which only two dangerous chances were recorded, the second half offered a totally different match. Right in the 48th minute, it was substitute Viola who shook up the match, scoring the 1-0 goal just 3′ after coming on, with a powerful strike that mocked Martinez; Genoa did not give up, and immediately in the 51st minute brought the match back to the initial balance, thanks to the difficult acrobatics of Gudmundsson who went over and beat Scuffet. The surprises don’t end here, and in the 69th minute, it is Zappa who seals the seal that will be worth the final victory, taking advantage of Petagna’s precise through ball and finishing into the right corner. The 2-1 goal was followed by a portion of the match characterized by high competitiveness, many fouls, and numerous yellow cards. The match at the Sardegna Arena ends after a copious 8′ recovery, with Casteddu winning against the Grifoni.

Cagliari and Genoa will be involved in the 12th matchday respectively away, guests of Allegri’s Juventus, and at home against Verona.

Stats before the game: Genoa have won their last five Serie A matches against Cagliari, only against Lazio has the Grifone achieved a longer streak of consecutive victories in its history in the tournament (eight between September 2011 and February 2015). Among the teams faced at least 15 times at home in Serie A, Genoa is the one against which Cagliari boasts the best success rate: 57%, 13 wins out of 23 home matches against the Ligurians (4N, 6P). In the last match, Cagliari won their first match of this championship in a comeback against Frosinone; the Sardinians have not achieved two successes in a row in Serie A since January 2022 with Walter Mazzarri on the bench, against Sampdoria and Bologna.  Cagliari have conceded at least three goals in each of their last three Serie A home games; the only team with a longer open streak of home games with at least three goals conceded in the tournament is Parma (four, the last on 16 May 2021). Genoa won their last Serie A match (1-0 against Salernitana) and have not achieved two successes in a row in the tournament since the period between January-February 2021, when with Davide Ballardini on the bench they won three consecutive matches (against Cagliari , Crotone and Naples).

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
AC Milan, 3rd position with 22 points and a positive goal difference of +7
Udinese, 17th position with 7 points and a negative goal difference of -8

AC Milan failed big time after losing the Serie A Week 11 game on Saturday 4 November 2023 at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.  The good news is for Udinese Coach Cioffi celebrating with his team their first victory in the championship. These valuable three points also helped Udinese to remove them from the relegation hot zone. This is the second consecutive defeat at home for Milan.

The curtain call is over. Now, the redemption and real test for AC Milan will be next week playing the Champions League Group Stage against Paris Saint Germain.

The Rossoneri woke up too late, five chances in injury time but a super Silvestri said no to Florenzi and Olivier Giroud, with Okafor not taking advantage of an excellent ball a few steps from the goal.

Bad news for AC Milan. Udinese took the lead in the 61st minute. Roberto Pereyra converted a penalty with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The penalty was conceded by Yacine Adli after a foul on Festy Ebosele.

✅ Stats before the game: Udinese won in their last meeting in Serie A against Milan, after a series of six consecutive matches without success (3D, 3L); the last time the Friulians achieved two consecutive successes against the Rossoneri in the competition was in 2017. Milan remained unbeaten in 15 of the last 16 home games against Udinese in Serie A (W9, D6): the Friulians’ only success in the partial, precisely in the only one of these matches in which the Rossoneri did not find the net , is a 1-0 from September 11, 2016, signed by Stipe Perica. Udinese is the only team against which Milan, since being under the guidance of Stefano Pioli, has always scored and conceded goals in Serie A (13 goals scored and 11 conceded in seven previous matches). Milan have lost only two of their last 25 Serie A matches against opponents who occupied the last four positions in the table at the start of the day (W18, D5): however, both defeats came in 2023, 2-5 vs Sassuolo, last 29 January and 0-2 against Spezia last May 13th.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Inter, 1st position with 25 points and a positive goal difference of +20
Atalanta, 5th position with 19 points and a positive goal difference of +10

Atalanta lost the Serie A Week 11 game on Saturday 4 November 2023 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy.  Inter conquered the Gewiss and remained in the 1st position. Previously, Atalanta had never lost at the Gewiss Stadium and, moreover, they have never conceded a single goal.  Today, the whole thing changed and they crumbled. Atalanta also lost the opportunity to get back above Napoli. Napoli have 2 points more than Atalanta.

The first half was affected by substitutions with Inter losing Pavard due to a knee injury but Darmian’s introduction turned the game around: he was Inzaghi’s man who took home the penalty kicked by Calhanoglu. In the second half, Inter took the field very intensely and created several dangerous opportunities until they found the second goal with a splendid curling shot from Lautaro which surprised Musso. Shortly afterwards Atalanta reacts and responds with Scamacca finding his fifth goal of the season and at the end of the match wasting the equalizer several times. 4 shots on target for the Goddess, 4 for Inter who however take home the 3 points.

We return to the field immediately following the international cups: meeting in Salzburg for Inter on Wednesday evening and then hosting Frosinone on 12 November. Atalanta are also involved in the midweek, Thursday against Sturm Graz, then they will play in Udine for the 12th round of Serie A.

Inter took the lead in the 40th minute. Hakan Çalhanoglu defeated Atalanta goalkeeper Juan Musso converting a penalty with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The penalty was conceded by Juan Musso.

Image

Inter scored again in the 57th minute. Lautaro Martínez scored > with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Lautaro remains the top scorer of the Serie A with 12 goals now.

Atalanta shortened the distance in the 62nd minute. Gianluca Scamacca defeated Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer with a right footed shot to the center. The assist is by Ademola Lookman.

✅  Stats before the game: Inter are unbeaten in nine Serie A matches against Atalanta (4W, 5D), in their entire history in Serie A they have only once recorded a longer streak of consecutive matches against the Bergamo side without losing: 10, between December 1950 and March 1955.  Atalanta have drawn 11 of their previous 23 home games against Inter in the three points for a win era (4W, 8P), against no team have they had more home matches in the Serie A period (11 also against Udinese). Inter have won each of their last two games against Atalanta in Serie A by a score of 3-2; in their history, these two teams have never played more games in a row, scoring and conceding more than one goal in each match. Inter have won 25 points so far in this championship; with a win, the Nerazzurri would get at least 28 after the first 11 games in a Serie A season for the fourth time in the three points per win era (28 in 2009/10, 29 in 2017/18 and 28 in 2019/ 20). Atalanta have won at least six of their first 10 league matches in each of the last two Serie A seasons, as many times as in the previous 61 seasons played in the competition; the Bergamo players could achieve seven wins in the first 11 matches played for the third time in their history in the competition, after 1961/62 and 2022/23.

👉 Lineup ATALANTA (3-4-1-2): Musso; Djimsiti, Scalvini, Kolašinac; Hateboer, de Roon, Ederson, Ruggeri; Koopmeiners; Lookman, Scamacca.
