Milan cannot afford to lose more points if they want to battle for the Scudetto. Lecce and Milan ended the Serie A Week 12 game with a draw on Saturday 11 November 2023 at the Via del Mare Stadium in Lecce, Italy. The winless streak continues for both teams but, given how the match was going, today’s result should be considered very positive for Lecce who are once again moving up their rankings, rising to 14. However, extremely negative feelings for Milan was unable to manage the double advantage obtained in the first half and almost lost the game.
This time it is the Giallorossi who overtake the Rossoneri after the first half ended by two goals. Sansone closed the gap in the 66th minute with his left foot under the crossbar from a few steps away, with Milan conceding a goal very similar to the one conceded against PSG, and Banda completed the comeback by chilling Maignan with a left-footed shot from inside the area. Milan runs out of fuel and risks being mocked twice, first with Sansone’s header on the post, then with Piccoli’s goal, which was however annulled after the intervention of the VAR which highlighted a foul by the former Empoli player on Thiaw, shortly after the red card received by Giroud for protests.
In memory of Nicola Loprieno and to honor his memory, President Sticchi Damiani, before the kick-off of Lecce – Milan, presented a number 5 shirt to Nicola’s wife, Lalla Desiderato and his children. https://t.co/g9YvbCyfe6

✅ Stats before the game: Milan is the team against which Lecce has drawn the most games in Serie A: 12 out of 34, complete with 20 Rossoneri successes and two Salento victories. Milan have remained unbeaten in 22 of the last 23 matches against Lecce in Serie A (12W, 10D), the only success for the Apulians in the period dates back to 1 April 2006 (1-0 with a goal from Axel Konan). After the 0-1 defeat against Udinese, Milan could remain without a goal in two consecutive league matches for the first time since April 2022 (two 0-0s in that case, against Bologna and Turin).
