The leadership remain the same and AC Milan ending as Winter Champions.  AC  Milan despite losing the home game against Atalanta in San Siro with a 0-3 is the sole leader of the Serie A with 43 points .   Fact is that Atalanta gave a tough lesson to AC Milan clearly saying the league is not over and the Scudetto available for other teams.  It is now up to AC Milan to archive this defeat and resume to win.   A sour debut for new AC Milan forward Mario Mandzukic failing to help the team unable to score a goal and for Zlatan Ibrahimovic celebrating his 600th professional games.

We could say the big flop if for Inter because they had the chance to be neck-to-neck with AC Milan.  Inter with 40 points could have reached Milan with 43 points, and, yet, wasted the chance to defeat Udinese at the Dacia Arena.  The game ending with a 0-0 goalless draw reaching now 41 points being -2 below AC Milan.  This was the golden moment for Inter.

AS Roma living their redemption moment.  Roma defeated Spezia at the Olimpico Stadium after Spezia eliminated Roma in the Coppa Italia Round of 16.  Roma climbing to the 3rd position reaching 37 points.  The winner goal scored by Captain Lorenzo Pellegrini in the 92nd minute.  Pellegrini celebrating his 100th start with Roma with this precious goal sealing the victory.

Fiorentina win the home game against Crotone on Saturday 23 January 2021 at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence. Crotone with an uphill battle being in the last position to climb the Serie A Standing. The relegation seems a crude reality for Crotone who were promoted from Serie B this season. However, miracles happen and still half tournament to play. Fiorentina reaching 21 points.

Benevento failing to win the home game against Torino on Friday 22 January 2021 at the Ciro Vigorito Stadium in Benevento. Torino Coach Davide Nicola making his debut with a draw after replacing Coach Marco Giampaolo. Torino with a cry for help to save themselves being down in the relegation zone. The draw is almost like a win for Torino who were down 2-0 to equalize for the 2-2 claiming a valuable one point. A ray of hope for Torino.

Juventus defeating Bologna with a 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium.  The victory is a boost for Juventus climbing from the 6th to the 4th position reaching 36 points and -7 points below AC Milan.

Lazio defeating Sassuolo at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome.  Sassuolo failing to surpass Lazio despite having taking the lead to lose the match.   Lazio reaching 34 points remaining in the 7th position while Sassuolo stepped down to the 9th position with 30 points.

A moment for joy is for Hellas Verona defeating Napoli at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium.  The defeat caused Napoli to step down to the 6th position.

Parma with a desperate call for help to leave the relegation zone. Sampdoria defeating Parma  at the Ennio Tardini Stadium in Parma. Sampdoria causing the upset reaching 26 points. Second consecutive wins and tenth place in the standings for Sampdoria while Parma penultimate and fourth knockout in the last five outings continues. Next round will be a tough test for both because Parma will face Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium and Sampdoria vs Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.
