Juventus and Bologna ended the Serie A Week 37 with a draw on Monday 20 May 2024 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy. What a match! Bologna dominated in the first half against a completely absent Juventus. Riccardo Calafiori broke the deadlock already in the 2nd minute following a corner, an almost immediate double with Castro’s header which scored from Ndoye’s cross.

In the second half, Calafiori crowned the splendid performance with his personal brace which made it 3-0. The Bianconeri turned the lights back on in the final: Chiesa took advantage of an error by Lucumì to reopen the match, then Milik’s free kick further shortened the result. Not even time to put the ball back in midfield and Yildiz made it 3-3 with a shot from the edge.

On the one hand, a Bologna who, fresh from arithmetic and historic qualification in the Champions League, are ready to celebrate an extraordinary achievement with their fans at the peak of a spectacular season; on the other, Juventus who, despite their victory in the Italian Cup, are experiencing a particularly delicate moment following Allegri’s dismissal

Bologna took the lead in the 2nd minute with a fast goal.  Riccardo Calafiori defeated Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny with a left-footed shot to the top left corner following a corner conceded by Szczesny.

✅ Stats before the game: After the 1-1 draw in the first leg last August 27, Bologna and Juventus could draw both seasonal matches in Serie A for the first time since 2011/12 (two 1-1s in that case). Juventus has remained unbeaten in 41 of the last 42 matches against Bologna in Serie A (29W, 12D), the last victory of the rossoblù against the bianconeri in the top championship dates back to 26 February 2011, thanks to Marco Di Vaio’s brace in the Olimpico Grande Torino with Alberto Malesani at the helm.

Bologna will play the Champions League for the first time in its history; also considering the Champions Cup, the rossoblù will play the tournament for only the second time, after 1964/65 with Fulvio Bernardini as coach: elimination in the first round against Anderlecht in that case.

Inter won the 2023-2024 Italy’s Champions winning the Scudetto last week after defeating AC Milan in the Milan Derby.   Inter’s 20th Italian league title and earn the Nerazzurri a second star on their shirts.  The historic moment for Inter was on Sunday with the Official Award Ceremony to receive the Scudetto after the draw against Lazio which ended with a 1-1 draw.

AS Roma survived the pressure and defeated Genoa.  Three golden points take Roma to the Europa League qualification and still leave a small hope for the Champions League, but a lot will depend on the fate of Atalanta.  Mathematically speaking, with this result, Roma can no longer be reached by Lazio, by virtue of the direct matches in their favor.   Roma beat Genoa 1-0 thanks to the goal by Romelu Lukaku.

The bad news is for AC Milan beaten by Torino with a 3-1.  Yet, despite the defeat, Milan remain in the 2nd position.  The good news is for Torino overtaking Napoli, who are now in tenth place in the table. With this victory, Torino climbed to ninth place and keeps alive the hope of qualifying for the next Conference League.

The Giallorossi were left with ten men halfway through the second half due to a double yellow in a few seconds for protests against Paredes and suffered in the final minutes, but Genoa broke through to Svilar.

Torino won the Serie A Week 37 on Saturday 18 May 2024 at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium in Turin, Italy. The great news for Torino because they overtakook Napoli in ninth place, just one point behind Fiorentina who however has one match less than the Granata. If Juric’s men fail to overtake the Viola, to participate in the next Conference League they will have to hope for the victory of the Italian team in the final of the same competition, scheduled for May 29th. Milan remains at 74 points but second place was already certain before today’s match.

Toro scored the hat trick in the very first moments of the second half thanks to Ricardo Rodriguez’s gem and effectively closes the match at the Olimpico. Milan shortened in the 55th minute with Bennacer on a penalty kick awarded by Pulisic but then failed to fully return to the match, even after the entry of Leao and Giroud.
