Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Genoa, 11th position with 46 points and a negative goal difference of -1
AS Roma, 6th position with 60 points and a positive goal difference of +19

AS Roma survived the pressure and won the Serie A game against Genoa to remain within the European zone on Sunday 19 May 2024 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. Three golden points that take Roma to the Europa League and still leave a small hope for the Champions League, but a lot will depend on the fate of Atalanta. With this result, Roma can no longer be reached by Lazio, by virtue of the direct matches in their favor.

Genoa remains stuck in eleventh place with 46 points. Roma narrowly won a complicated match in which there were no shots on target for most of the match and which only broke the deadlock at the end when Lukaku found the decisive goal with a header. The Giallorossi were left with ten men halfway through the second half due to a double yellow in a few seconds for protests against Paredes and suffered in the final minutes, but Genoa broke through to Svilar.

Roma took the lead in the 79th minute. Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku defeated Genoa goalkeeper with a headed shot to the center. The assist is by Stephan El Shaarawy.
