Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Lecce, 14th position with 4 points and a negative goal difference of -5
Parma, 12th position with 4 points and a negative goal difference of -1

Lecce and Parma ended the Serie A Week 5 with a draw on Saturday, 21 September 2024, at the Via Del Mare Stadium in Lecce, Italy.  Surely, it was a thrilling encounter, leaving Lecce and Parma each with a well-deserved point!  The match was truly intense and not for the faint-hearted!

Patrick Dorgu set the tone by scoring in the first half, but the second half was packed with drama! Amazingly, both teams faced a red card (Guilbert for one team and Cancellieri for the other), and Krstovic made it 2-0, only to miss a couple of golden opportunities for a third goal. Those mistakes proved to be pivotal, as Almqvist scored during injury time, and just seconds later, Hainaut found the net with a header to level the score.

Parma has kicked off their season on a high note, celebrating a win against Milan and a solid draw at home against Fiorentina. However, after a tough away game in Naples where they played with just ten players for much of the second half, they faced a disappointing comeback loss at Tardini against Udinese. Now, as they head to Via del Mare, the team is eager to bounce back and prove themselves.

Stats before the game.

Of the teams faced more than 20 times in Serie A, Lecce is the one against which Parma boasts the highest percentage of victories: 54%, thanks to 13 wins in 24 matches (9D, 2P) – in particular, the Emilians have won all of the last three matches against the Apulians and have never reached four wins in a row.

After at least one of the two teams failed to score in three of the first four Serie A matches between Lecce and Parma at the Giallorossi’s home, in all of the last eight in Salento both opponents have found the back of the net, for a total of 29 goals, an average of 3.6 per match.

Lecce have scored just one goal in their last seven Serie A matches (Krstovic against Cagliari) and in the period since 13 May, no team from the top five European leagues and present in both seasons in the top flight has scored so few. Lecce won their last home Serie A game (1-0 against Cagliari) and have not achieved at least two consecutive home wins in the competition since the start of the 2023/24 championship (three in a row with Roberto D’Aversa on the bench). After remaining unbeaten in the first two matchdays of the championship (1W, 1D), Parma have lost the most recent two; in both of the last two Serie A championships played (2019/20 and 2020/21) the Gialloblù have suffered three defeats in the first five matchdays.

Parma have conceded goals in all of their last 27 away matches in Serie A and among the teams currently in the top division, they are the one with the longest open streak; in general, the other worst open streaks are those of Casale, Cremonese, Lecco, Messina, Pro Patria and Reggiana.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Napoli, 3rd position with 9 points and a positive goal difference of +5
Juventus, 6th position with 8 points and a positive goal difference of +6

The big clash between Juventus and Napoli in the Serie A Week 5 game ended with a draw on Saturday 21 September 2024 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Italy. Antonnio Conte returned to the Allianz as an opponent coaching Napoli. The highly anticipated clash between Juventus and Napoli concludes without any goals. It was a well-matched, tactical game with limited clear chances to score. Conte’s team posed a threat on two occasions with Politano (46′ and 55′) and McTominay in the 29th minute. For Juventus, Koopmeiners had a notable chance in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, Meret suffered an injury during the match.

In the upcoming round, Juventus will play away against Genoa, while Napoli will host Monza at home.

Stats before the game

Napoli have won six of their last nine matches against Juventus in Serie A (D1 L2), as many victories as in the previous 22 meetings between these two teams in the competition (D4 L12); in fact, from 2019/20 onwards, the Neapolitan team is the one that has beaten the Bianconeri the most times in the league (six, at least two more than any other opponent).

Juventus have won 10 of their last 13 home matches against Napoli in Serie A, including the last one played last season (1-0 with a goal by Gatti); in this partial one draw and two Azzurri victories, both by 1-0 (Raspadori and Koulibaly the scorers).

Thanks to three wins and a draw, Napoli have remained unbeaten in the last four occasions in which they have faced Juventus with a points advantage in the Serie A standings (currently nine points for the Neapolitans, eight for the Bianconeri).

Juventus have not conceded a single goal in their four games this season and have only kept a clean sheet in their first four Serie A games on four other occasions (1965/66, 1983/84, 1986/87 and 2014/15), while only in the most recent of these (2014/15) have they managed to keep a clean sheet in the fifth (a record for the Piedmontese in the top division). Napoli are in second place with nine points, thanks to three consecutive victories after losing on matchday one; the Campanians have not achieved four consecutive wins in Serie A since their run of eight between January and February 2023 under Luciano Spalletti.

2024-25 Serie A Week 4 Results and Scores.

Check out the Italian Serie A Week 4 Results Live Scores happening on Saturday 14, Sunday 15, and Monday 16 September 2024!  We’re back from the International break, and Round 4 is packed with thrilling action!

Exciting news! Udinese has taken the top spot in Serie A with 10 points after their thrilling victory over Parma. The match at Tardini was a nail-biter, ending 3-2 in favor of Udinese. Florain Thauvin shone brightly, scoring two crucial goals. With this win, Runjaic’s squad finishes the fourth round of Serie A as the undisputed leaders.

After a commanding 4-0 win over Cagliari, Napoli is in 2nd place with 9 points. They are closely followed by Inter, Juventus, and Torino, all at 8 points. Next week promises to be significant for Napoli as they take on Juventus, while Cagliari prepares to face Empoli at home.

Monza and Inter finished in a 1-1 draw at the U-Power Stadium. This result is a tough one for Inter, as they have lost their top ranking. On the flip side, Monza celebrates this draw as a significant achievement, earning a vital point against the champions of Italy.

In recent news, AC Milan celebrated their first win of the season, decisively beating Venezia 4-0. Unfortunately, Venezia remains at the bottom of the table, facing their third loss and struggling to score.

Juventus had a tough match against Empoli, resulting in a goalless draw, with both teams earning a point. For the first time since February 2012, Juventus has ended two Serie A matches in a row with a score of 0-0, previously doing so against Siena and Parma. Juventus reached 8 points.

Como is excited to host their first match at home, with the Sinigaglia renovations completed just in time. However, their hopes for a first Serie A victory faded at the last moment, leaving both Como and Bologna still in search of their first win.

The Serie A Week 4 clash between Genoa and Roma concluded in a 1-1 stalemate at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium. Artem Dovbyk opened the scoring for Roma in the first half, but Koni De Winter found the equalizer just moments before the final whistle. As a result, Roma’s quest for their first victory of the season continues, leaving them with three points, while Genoa climbs to five. This season marks just the fourth occasion in Roma’s history where they have failed to win any of their first four Serie A matches, a situation reminiscent of 2010/11, 1984/85, and 1974/75. Something needs to change. Will Coach Daniele De Rossi step up?

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Inter, 1st position with 7 points and a positive goal difference of +6
Monza, 15th position with 2 points and a negative goal difference of -1

The Serie A Week 4 clash between Monza and Inter on Sunday, September 15, 2024, concluded in a 1-1 stalemate at the U-Power Stadium in Monza, Italy. This result is disappointing for Inter as they relinquish their top spot. Conversely, Monza sees this draw as a small triumph, earning a crucial point against the reigning champions. Inter now sits in second place with 8 points, while Napoli takes the lead with 9 points after a decisive victory over Cagliari.

All the action unfolded in the second half. Mota Carvalho opened the scoring for Monza with a powerful header. Just minutes later, in the 88th minute, Denzel Dumfries found the net to level the score just two minutes before the final whistle. Looking ahead, Monza will host Bologna in their next match, while Inter prepares for a showdown against Milan.

In the 81st minute, Monza seized the advantage as Dany Mota scored with a powerful header into the top left corner, thanks to an assist from Armando Izzo. This goal caught the reigning champions of Italy off guard.

Inter leveled the score in the 88th minute when Denzel Dumfries found the back of the net with a close-range right-footed shot aimed at the center.

Stats before the game

After a draw and a win in Serie A against Inter, Monza have been defeated in their next two matches in the competition against the Nerazzurri.
Inter are unbeaten (1W, 1D) in Serie A at the U-Power Stadium against Monza; in the two matches between the two teams at this stadium, a total of 10 goals have been scored (an average of five per game) and neither team has managed to keep a clean sheet.
Monza have lost six of their last seven Serie A games against opponents from the same region: the only exception being one win against Milan, at home on 18 February; in this period, the Brianza team have conceded 22 goals, for an average of 3.1 per game.
After a series of seven consecutive away wins, Inter have not won in three of their last four league away games, drawing the two most recent ones (1D); the last time the Nerazzurri recorded more draws in a row away from home in Serie A was between January and March 2022 (four).
Monza is the team that has been waiting for a win for the longest rounds of the championship among the teams currently in Serie A: 12, a partial in which they have obtained five draws and seven defeats; furthermore, the Brianza team have failed to find the net in six of these games.
After a draw and two wins in the first three matches of this championship, Inter can obtain at least three wins in the first four games of a Serie A tournament for the fourth season in a row, something that could happen for the first time since 1955/56 (six consecutive on that occasion).

Among the players with more than two goals in Serie A in 2024, Daniel Maldini is the one with the best minutes/goal average: one goal for every 107 minutes on average (five goals in the period for the 2001-born player).
Marcus Thuram has scored four goals in his first three games of this season, one less than Lautaro Martínez after the same number of games in the last tournament: with a goal from the Frenchman, Inter could have a player with five goals in the first four matchdays for two consecutive Serie A seasons for the first time since 1959/60-1960/61 (on that occasion Edwing Firmani in both tournaments and Antonio Angelillo in 1960/61). Four of Monza’s last five goals in Serie A have been scored by Milan Djuric; however, the Bosnian striker has not scored in the 448 minutes played against Inter in the competition: only against Roma has he played more minutes (496) without managing to score in the Italian top flight.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Napoli, 6th position with 6 points and a positive goal difference of +1
Cagliari, 18th position with 2 points and a negative goal difference of -1

In an impressive display, Napoli claimed victory in Serie A Week 4 by defeating Cagliari 4-0 on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the Unipol Stadium in Cagliari, Italy. The first half was filled with excitement and balance, but it was Di Lorenzo’s goal that set the tone for the match. The second half saw Kvaratskhelia and Lukaku score within four minutes, and Buongiorno finished things off in injury time. With this win, Napoli takes the lead in the standings and looks forward to a crucial match against Juventus next week, while Cagliari prepares to host Empoli.

Napoli got on the scoreboard first in the 18th minute when Giovanni Di Lorenzo found the back of the net with a left-footed shot aimed at the bottom right corner. Romelu Lukaku provided the assist for this goal.

In the 66th minute, Napoli extended their lead to 2-0. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia found the back of the net with a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner, thanks to an assist from Romelu Lukaku.

In the 70th minute, Romelu Lukaku found the net for Napoli with a powerful left-footed shot into the bottom right corner, thanks to an assist from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The score is now 3-0.

Napoli clinched the win in the dying moments of the match, scoring in the 93rd minute. Alessandro Buongiorno found the net with a close-range header aimed at the upper center of the goal. The setup came from David Neres, who delivered a perfect cross after a corner given away by Sebastiano Luperto.

Stats before the game:

Of the teams faced at least 50 times in Serie A, Cagliari is the one against which Napoli boasts the lowest percentage of defeats in the top division: 19% (14 defeats in 74 matches, 33 Neapolitan victories and 27 draws complete the picture).
Cagliari have won only one of their last 26 games against Napoli in Serie A (8D, 17P): 1-0 away on 25 September 2019, with Rolando Maran on the bench (goal by Lucas Castro); the last home success of the rossoblù against the azzurri in the competition dates back to 19 April 2009, under the management of Massimiliano Allegri (2-0).
Napoli have won six of their last eight away games against Cagliari in Serie A – scoring an average of 2.6 goals per game in the process – although the two most recent games ended in a draw; the last time the Neapolitans drew three away games in a row against the Sardinians in the competition dates back to March 1976.
Cagliari have drawn six of their last nine home games in Serie A (2W, 1D) and have only kept a clean sheet once in that period, in the 0-0 draw against Roma on matchday one of this season; furthermore, the Sardinians could record three home draws in a row in the competition for the first time since the first three home games of the 2018/19 tournament, with Rolando Maran on the bench.
Napoli have achieved just two away wins in Serie A from the start of December 2023 to date (5D, 6P), excluding the newly promoted teams of this championship and the relegated teams of last season, no team has done worse (two also for Cagliari and Lecce).
After losing to Hellas Verona, Napoli won their next two Serie A games with Antonio Conte on the bench (against Bologna and Parma) – the last time the Partenopei recorded at least three consecutive league wins under a single manager was in February 2023, with Luciano Spalletti (eight in that case).
