Match statistic
Roma are one of only six teams against which Venezia have avoided defeat in their previous Serie A campaign (W1 D1 in 2021/22). The Giallorossi's last win in the competition against the Arancioroverdi dates back to 2 December 2001: 1-0 on a goal by Diego Fuser.
Roma have found the net in each of their last 19 league games against Venezia - the Giallorossi have managed to score in 20 or more consecutive Serie A matches against only three opponents in their history in the competition: against Bologna (29 between 2000 and 2018), Hellas Verona (22 between 1989 and 2020) and Lecce (21 between 2000 and 2023).
Since winning 2–1 on 16 March 1947, Venezia have failed to win in any of their next eight Serie A away games against Roma, drawing two and losing six.
Roma have won just two of their last five home Serie A games (D1 L2), having won five of their previous six (L1); however, the Giallorossi have scored in 23 consecutive home games in the competition, their longest run since September 2017 (a streak that reached 34 on that occasion).
After a draw and three defeats, Venezia beat Genoa 2–0 in the last round of the championship and could win two in a row in Serie A for the first time since November 2021 (against Roma on that occasion and Bologna). In this case, they would find themselves winning at least two of their first six games of a single top-flight tournament for the first time since 1946/47.
Roma have drawn three of their first five games in Serie A this season and have not drawn at least four times in their first six matchdays of a single tournament in the competition since 1984/85 (five in that case with Sven-Göran Eriksson on the bench).
Venezia are the team that have conceded the most goals in the first 30 minutes of this championship: five; on the other hand, Roma are, together with Parma and Juventus, one of three teams that have not conceded any goals in the same period of time.
In the last match against Genoa, Eusebio Di Francesco reached the milestone of 300 games as a coach and 100 victories as a coach in Serie A, successes that came with seven different teams, including Roma (35). The Giallorossi are the opponent that the current Venezia coach has faced the most times in the competition without ever winning (12: 3N, 9P).
Paulo Dybala (124) is close to equalling Gonzalo Higuaín (125) in third place among the best scorers of Argentine sports nationality in Serie A (the first two positions are occupied by Gabriel Batistuta, 184 and Hernán Crespo, 153). However, the Roma striker has only found the net in one of the last six games against newly promoted opponents in the league (a brace against Cagliari on 5 February), after having found the net in all three of the previous ones.
Joel Pohjanpalo (42+11) is, together with Paulo Dybala (26+15) and Olivier Giroud (28+13), one of three players who have scored more than 25 goals and provided more than 10 assists over the last three seasons between Serie A and Serie B. After the goal against Genoa, the Venezia striker can score in two consecutive league appearances for the first time since last April (four on that occasion).
