Serie A Standing BEFORE the game
Bologna, 4th position with 62 points and a positive goal difference of +22
Udinese, 18th position with 28 points and a negative goal difference of -19

Bologna and Udinese ended the Serie A Week 34 game with a draw on Sunday 28 April 2024 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy.  Udinese in 18th place -3 from the trio, Empoli, Frosinone, and Verona. The Ciociari and Scaligeri have already played, a large victory for Frosinone, 3-0 against Salernitana, and a narrow defeat for Verona last night against Lazio. Bologna is close to the Champions League dream, just a few points missing and today’s match could be crucial. An Udinese team still hurt by the goal and defeat in the midweek mini recovery against Roma arrives to visit him. Friulians who are desperately looking for salvation points.

Udinese took the lead before ending the first half in the 45+1′. Martín Payero defeated Bologna goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner.

Bologna equalized in the 78th minute. Alexis Saelemaekers defeated Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye with a right-footed shot to the high center.

✅    Stats before the game: Bologna remained unbeaten in seven of the last eight Serie A matches against Udinese (W2, D5), however losing the most recent one, in the first leg of this championship (0-3 on 30 December 2023). The Friulians can win both seasonal matches against the Emilians in the competition for the first time since 2017/18. This is only the second match in the entire history of Serie A in which Bologna and Udinese face each other with a gap of more than 20 points in the standings (considered two points per game before 1994/95): the only precedent dates back to 18 April 1962 (+28 on that occasion for the rossoblù), with the match ending in a 1-1 draw. Bologna are unbeaten in five home games against Udinese in Serie A (2W, 3D), after having lost four of the previous six (1W, 1N); more generally, the rossoblù have scored at least one goal in 12 of the last 13 home games in the competition against the bianconeri (the only exception was 1 February 2014, a 2-0 away success for the Friulians). Udinese have drawn 10 of their last 16 away matches against Emilia-Romagna opponents in Serie A (3W, 3L), although in the most recent three there has only been a draw (1W, 1L): 1-1 in the 1st April at MAPEI against Sassuolo. Bologna have lost only one of their last 13 Serie A matches (9W, 3D), last March 9th against Inter – from the 21st matchday onwards, in fact, only the Nerazzurri (35) have collected more points than the Rossoblù (30 ) in the championship.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Inter, 1st position with 86 points and a positive goal difference of +61
Torino, 10th position with 46 points and a positive goal difference of +2

Inter already crowned as Italy’s Champions are playing their home game celebrating their 20th Scudetto. Inter won the Serie A Week 34 game against Torino on Sunday 28 April 2024 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Italy. The Nerazzurri, fresh winners of the Scudetto in the Milan derby won last Monday, face the Granata, capable of picking up just two points in the last four championship matches.

The Nerazzurri celebrate the Scudetto by continuing their triumphal march in search of records. Simone Inzaghi’s team changed pace in the second half, Hakan Calhanoglu decided the challenge by scoring a brace in four minutes. The first goal arrived with a nice conclusion from the left foot from a maneuvered play then with a right-footed shot ‘cross from the spot (foul by Lovato on Thuram). The Granata left with ten men at the start of the second half due to a last-man foul by Tameze on Mkhitaryan (reviewed for VAR) had to surrender.

Inter took the lead in the 56th minute. Hakan Çalhanoglu defeated Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic with a left-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Inter are just shining. In the 59th minute, Hakan Çalhanoglu converted a penalty with a right-footed shot to the top left corner. The penalty was conceded by Matteo Lovato after a foul on Marcus Thuram.

Stats before the game:  Inter have won eight of their last nine matches against Torino in the league (N1) and have kept a clean sheet in the most recent three – the Nerazzurri could record four clean sheets in a row against the Granata in Serie A for the first time since the period between 2001 and 2003. Inter have won all of their last four matches at the Meazza against Torino in the league, only once have the Nerazzurri achieved more home successes in a row against the Granata in Serie A: seven between 1969 and 1976. Inter won the Scudetto with five rounds to spare: equaling the record in the history of Serie A of Napoli 2022/23, Juventus 2018/19, Inter 2006/07, Fiorentina 1955/56 and Torino 1947 /48; in particular, the Nerazzurri are the only ones in the history of the competition to have achieved this twice. Inter have remained unbeaten in their last 27 league matches (W22, D5), only twice in their history in Serie A have they recorded more matches in a row without defeat: 31 between April 2007 and February 2008 and 33 between May 2006 and April 2007. Inter have drawn two of their last three home league games (W1), as many as in the previous 48 (W38, D2, L8) – the Nerazzurri could get two home draws in a row in Serie A for the first time since the period between September and October 2021. Challenge between the two teams that have recorded the highest number of clean sheets in this championship: Inter (19) and Torino (17); only in 1988/89 did the Nerazzurri keep more clean sheets in a single Serie A season (20) – on the other hand only three times did the Granata do better (18 in 1991/92, 18 in 1979/80 and 19 in 1976/77).

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Lazio, 7th position with 52 points and a positive goal difference of +7
Hellas Verona, 15th position with 31 points and a negative goal difference of -13

Lazio with a sprint race to climb to the top 6 positions look won the Serie A Week 34 game on Saturday 27 April 2024 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. The Biancocelesti change pace in the second half, creating and wasting repeatedly with Luis Alberto, Castellanos and Pedro – even a crossbar and a post from Felipe Anderson and Pedro: the decision is made by the former Mattia Zaccagni, who came off the bench after a month’s absence due to injury.

On the thirty-fifth matchday, Tudor’s boys will visit Monza while Baroni’s team will host Fiorentina.

Lazio Coach Igor Tudor celebrates for reaching 100 points in Serie A.

Lazio took the lead in the 72nd minute. Mattia Zaccagni defeated Hellas Verona goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Luis Alberto.

Image

Stats before the game: After the 1-1 draw in the first leg last December 9th, Lazio and Hellas Verona could draw both seasonal Serie A matches for the first time since 1989/90.
Lazio and Hellas Verona have drawn three of the last four championship matches (a Biancocelesti success completing the partial), as many draws as in the previous 20 Serie A matches (11 victories for the Capitoline against six successes for the Scaligeri). Lazio remained unbeaten in 14 of the last 15 home games against Hellas Verona in Serie A (10W, 4D), the Venetians’ only success in the period came on 12 December 2020 (2-1, thanks to an own goal by Lazzari and Tameze’s goal). Igor Tudor could become only the 2nd coach in the last 65 years to win all his first three home games in charge of Lazio in Serie A, after Delio Rossi (who made it four out of four between August and October 2005). Lazio is the team that has drawn the fewest matches in 2024 in Serie A, only one “X” sign in 15 matches in the calendar year (8W, 6D): 0-0 on 28 January against Napoli. Hellas Verona have remained unbeaten in their last three league away games (W1, D2): the Scaligeri could record at least four away games in a row without defeat in a single Serie A season for the first time since the period between October 2020 and January 2021 (seven in that case, under the leadership of Ivan Juric).

Krstovic with a right foot in full recovery, Pessina equalizes from a penalty at the end. A point each which is good for both teams from a safety perspective.

Monza takes the field already safe. The first contract renewals have already arrived and we can start thinking about next season.

Monza equalized in the 94th minute. Matteo Pessina converted a penalty for @ACMonzaENconverts with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The penalty was conceded by Lorenzo Venuti after a handball

✅ Stats before the game: Lecce is unbeaten in three matches against Monza in Serie A (W1, D2), among the opponents against whom they have never lost in the top division, only against Venezia (four) have they played more matches. After the 1-1 draw in the first leg last September 17, Lecce and Monza could draw both seasonal matches between Serie A and Serie B for the first time since 1992/93 (in the cadet championship in that case). Lecce remained unbeaten in 11 of the 13 home games against Monza between Serie A and Serie B (4W, 7N), the last success of the Brianza away against the Salento dates back to 6 December 1998 (1-0 in the cadet championship with goal by Massimo Oddo). Lecce have won their last two league matches without conceding a goal, the Salento team could achieve three successes in a row in Serie A for the first time since the period between November 2022 and January 2023; while the last time they achieved three consecutive clean sheets in the tournament dates back to the period between February and March 2004 – however, never in their history in Serie A have they recorded three victories in a row without conceding a goal. Since Luca Gotti’s arrival at Lecce (last March 13th) only Lazio (12), Inter and Bologna (11 each) have collected more points than Lecce in Serie A (10 in five matches). Luca Gotti could, in fact, become the first coach to win four of the first six matches in charge of Lecce in the history of Serie A.
