Stats BEFORE the game

Napoli and Como are set to meet in the Coppa Italia for just the third time, following two encounters during the 1999/2000 group stage: a 1-1 draw at Napoli on August 18, 1999, and a 2-1 victory for the Campania team away on September 15, 1999.

Napoli has the chance to reach the Coppa Italia semifinals for the first time since the 2020/21 season.  They successfully advanced past the quarterfinals in both of their last two seasons (2019/20 and 2020/21).

Como has made it to the Coppa Italia quarterfinals for only the second time in their history, the first being in 1985/86, when they knocked out Hellas Verona and reached the semifinals (where they were eventually eliminated by Sampdoria).

Napoli has managed to win just one of their last six encounters with Como across all competitions (D1 L4): a 3-1 victory at home on October 4, 2024, in Serie A, after previously winning five of their last six competitive matches against the Larians (D1).

Following a 0-0 draw on November 1, 2024, in Serie A, Napoli and Como could end up drawing two consecutive matches in all competitions for only the second time, mirroring the stretch from May to November 1987 (which also featured two consecutive draws in Serie A).

Despite losing all 13 competitive away matches against Napoli, Como has remained unbeaten in four of their last five away games against the Partenopei (W2 D2); however, Como’s last away victory against Napoli dates back to September 7, 2003 (1-0 in Serie B).

🟡🔵     Hellas Verona 0 – 0 Pisa  ⚫️🔵

Hellas Verona did not meet their goal finishing with a scoreless draw at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium. In simple terms, both Verona and Pisa were unable to score tonight, which means they missed an opportunity to enhance their chances of avoiding relegation. The fact is that both Pisa and Verona remain at 15 points each, stuck at the very bottom of the standings. Pisa is in 19th place, while Verona sits in 20th.

  🔴🔵   Genoa 2 – 3 Napoli  🔵

Napoli triumphed at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium. Antonio Conte’s squad is currently 6 points behind Inter and just 1 point behind Milan, barely holding on to the Scudetto race. Genoa sits at 23 points, still above the relegation zone but now in danger of being surpassed by several other teams. It was undoubtedly a tough home loss for Genoa. Napoli achieved a victory filled with determination, having taken the lead in the first half. Unfortunately, they lost Scott McTominay to injury. Additionally, they conceded an equalizer to Lorenzo Colombo in the 57th minute. To make matters worse, Napoli was reduced to ten men after Juan Jesus received a second yellow card in the 76th minute.

💜⚜️   Fiorentina 2 – 2 Torino  🐂

The game between Fiorentina and Torino was filled with tension, ultimately ending in a 2-2 draw. Torino initially took the lead with a goal from Cesare Casadei, but Fiorentina fought back with goals from Manor Solomon and Moise Kean. Unfortunately, the equalizer came in the dying moments of the match. Guillermo Maripán dashed Fiorentina’s hopes by scoring a header in injury time, resulting in both teams claiming 1 point each. Fiorentina now has 18 points, remaining perilously close to the relegation zone, while Torino has reached 27 points.

  🔴🔵   Bologna 0 – 1 Parma  🟡🔵

The Emilian derby concluded with a victory for Parma at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium.   Bologna’s struggles continue, leaving them at 30 points, while Parma rises to 26 points, maintaining an 8-point cushion above the relegation zone. The victory is a boost for Parma in avoiding the relegation zone.  The first half was largely uneventful, highlighted only by Tommaso Pobega’s direct red card.  In stoppage time, Christian Ordóñez netted a stunning long-range goal, clinching the three points for Parma. The visitors also ended the match with 10 players after Mariano Troilo received a second yellow card.

🟡🔴   Lecce 2  – 1 Udinese   ⚪️⚫️

Lecce triumphed at the Via del Mare Stadium. This win brings Lecce to 21 points, placing them in 17th position, just 3 points ahead of Fiorentina, who have 18 points. Udinese stays at 32 points, holding the 9th position. In the 5th minute, Lecce took the lead thanks to Gandelman, who was quick to pounce on a loose ball in the box and scored past Okoye. Oumar Solet then stepped up to take a penalty for Udinese, successfully converting it to level the score at 1-1. Finally, in the 90th minute, Lecce secured the win when Banda curled a free-kick over the wall, beating Okoye for a final score of 2-1.

 ⚫️🟢  Sassuolo 0 – 5 Inter  ⚫️🔵

Inter trashed Sassuolo 5-0 at the Mapei Stadium. Inter is maintaining its rapid pace in the Scudetto race. Currently, Inter has 58 points, increasing its lead over second-placed Milan to eight points. Sassuolo stays at 29 points. Chivu’s Nerazzurri showcased their dominance, overpowering Fabio Grosso’s squad with a convincing 5-0 win. The goals came from Bisseck (11′) and Thuram (28′) in the first half, followed by Lautaro Martinez (50′), Akanji (53′), and Luis Henrique (88′) in the second half. Sassuolo was down to 10 players from the 55th minute after Nemanja Matic received a second yellow card.

   ⚪️⚫️   Juventus 2 – 2 Lazio ⚪️🔵

Juventus was unable to secure a victory at home.  Lazio took the lead just before halftime with a goal from Pedro and extended their advantage shortly after the second half began with Isaksen’s goal. Juventus responded with a goal from McKennie, followed by an equalizer from Kalulu in the dying moments of the match. Both Spalletti and Sarri’s teams ended up with one point each. This result is undoubtedly disappointing for both sides. Lazio had the upper hand and could have claimed all 3 points, but Juventus managed to level the score in the 96th minute.

⚫️🔵      Atalanta 2 – 1 Cremonese  🩶❤️

Atalanta secured a victory at the New Balance Arena located. They currently hold the 7th position with 39 points, narrowing the gap to Como to just two points. In their upcoming league match, La Dea will face Lazio. Meanwhile, Cremonese continues to struggle, dropping another position to 16th place with 23 points. They are five points clear of the relegation zone, which is currently held by Fiorentina, and will be hosting Genoa (who also has 23 points) in the next matchday.

🟡🔴  AS Roma 2 – 0 Cagliari  🔴🔵

AS Roma triumphed at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium.   Roma secured a 2-0 victory over Fabio Pisacane’s Cagliari, with Donyell Malen scoring his first brace while wearing a Roma jersey. Malen’s goals thrilled the supporters, sending the Stadio Olimpico into a frenzy with one goal in each half. This win propels Roma to 46 points in the league standings, allowing them to catch up with Spalletti’s Juventus, who also have 46 points in fourth place. Meanwhile, Cagliari remains in 12th position with 28 points. Bryan Zaragoza made his debut for Roma, coming on for Lorenzo Pellegrini in the second half.
