Lazio  win the Serie A Week 28 game on Sunday 2 April 2023 at the U-Power Stadium in Monza, Italy. The victory is for Lazio, who rule Monza with one goal in each half. Lazio got off to a better start in the first half, finding the opening goal in the 13th minute with Pedro. It is the fifth success in the last six games, in which Lazio have not conceded a single goal. Lazio consolidate the second place by moving to +5 on third-placed Inter and seven points ahead of fifth-placed Atalanta. On the other hand, Monza loses again after three games, which still maintains a fifteen-point lead over the relegation zone.

Lazio opened the score in the 13th minute. It is Pedro to defeat Monza goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio with a left-footed shot to the center.

Lazio scored again in the 56th minute. It is Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to score with a right-footed free kick shot to the top left corner.

✅   Stats before the game: Monza have picked up just one point in five matches against teams that occupied the top four positions in the Serie A table at the start of the day (2-2 v Inter on 7 January), including the 0-1 defeat against Lazio in the match first leg of last November 10th.   Monza have drawn their last two league matches, the Brianza have never recorded three draws in a row in Serie A.  Lazio have remained unbeaten in 16 of their last 17 matches against newly promoted teams in Serie A (W14, D2), losing however the most recent one (2-1 v Lecce away from home), the biancocelesti could register two defeats in a row against these opponents for the first time from the period between November 2014 and February 2015 (see Empoli and Cesena).  Monza have remained unbeaten in seven of their last eight home league games (W3, D4): the only defeat in the period at the U-Power Stadium dates back to 18 February against Milan. Lazio have recorded 16 clean sheets in 27 matches in this championship, in their history in Serie A on only two occasions have the Biancocelesti kept several clean sheets in an entire season: in 2006/07 (18) and in 1963/ 64 (17).
