✅   Stats before the game. Verona are unbeaten in their last five Serie A matches against Lecce (W3, D2) and have won the last two in chronological order (2019/20 season) – the last Salento victory against Hellas in the top tournament dates back to 4-2 of 7 January 2001 (two goals from Cristiano Lucarelli, Vugrinec and Osorio for the Giallorossi, Emiliano Bonazzoli and Adailton for the Gialloblù). Verona have never lost at home against Lecce in Serie A: four wins for Hellas (including the last one dated 26 January 2020 – 3-0 with the signatures of Dawidowicz, Pessina and Pazzini) and three draws in seven matches at the Bentegodi.  Verona have taken nine points so far, registering Hellas’ second worst result in their first 18 games played in a Serie A championship, after eight in 2015/16; in the era of three points for a win and considering the 20-team tournaments, only one team was saved by collecting less than 10 points at the end of the first leg (Crotone 2016/17, which after the first 19 had just nine) . Lecce have scored 20 points so far and with a victory they would register their second best result in the first 19 days of Serie A: so far, the Salento have in fact exceeded the 20 mark at this stage of the tournament only three times (22 points in 2004/05, 22 points in 2000/01 and 27 in 1999/00).
