🇮🇹    AC Milan defeated Venezia on Friday, 28 August 2026, as they face off in Serie A Week 2 at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. Milan triumphs in their debut at San Siro. The Rossoneri secured a 2-0 victory, maintaining a perfect record after two rounds of the league. Gonçalo Ramos found the net for the first time since joining from Paris Saint-Germain, while Redouane Halhal's late own goal sealed the win for Milan.

This is undoubtedly a positive sign for Milan, winning two in a row. The team achieved their second consecutive victory in the league, keeping their points tally intact. Unfortunately for Venezia, after their loss to Lecce, they remain at zero points. Goncalo Ramos, who had missed at least four chances in the first half, finally scored his first Serie A goal; an own goal by Halhal in the 89th minute sealed the match.

The game began with a tribute to Franco Baresi, who received applause from the entire Meazza stadium, followed by Milan's success against Venezia.

Pulisic made his return to Milan's squad, listed as a substitute for the first time since suffering a bone bruise and microfracture in his lower leg during the United States' World Cup exit against Belgium on July 6.

Here's the situation: In the first half, Milan was dangerous on at least five occasions: four times with Goncalo Ramos (who missed all chances) and once with De Winter. Venezia responded with an incursion from Adams and a missed opportunity from Yeboah. This summarizes a first half that ended 0-0. Then, the situation shifted in Milan's favor as Ramos finally scored.

On his fifth opportunity, Gonçalo Ramos found the back of the net.  In the 69th minute, a counterattack from Milan with Alexis Saelemaekers assisting Ramos.  He made a run and finished with a diagonal shot that beat Stankovic.

Next up: AC Milan will head to Turin to face Juventus, while Venezia will take on Frosinone, the two promoted teams.
