Iraq and Norway will begin their World Cup 2026 Group I journey on Tuesday, June 16, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The match is set to kick off at 6:00 PM Eastern Time. This encounter serves as the opening game for both teams. Group I also features France and Senegal.

Under the management of Ståle Solbakken, Norway is seen as a strong contender to progress. They had an impressive European qualifying campaign, netting 37 goals and winning all their matches. The squad includes Premier League stars Erling Haaland and captain Martin Ødegaard.

Iraq guided by Graham Arnold, Iraq makes its return to the global arena for the first time since 1986. They secured their spot through an inter-confederation playoff against Bolivia. The Iraqi offense will be led by Aymen Hussein.
