Result New Zealand vs Egypt, Sunday, 21 June 2026, World Cup Group G

Egypt achieved a remarkable 3-1 comeback win over New Zealand in Vancouver during their Group G match for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Finn Surman put the All Whites ahead with an early goal in the 15th minute, but Egypt turned the game around in the second half with goals from Mostafa Zico, Mohamed Salah, and Trezeguet, clinching the victory. As a result, Egypt climbed to 1st place in Group G with 4 points, while New Zealand fell to the bottom with just 1 point.

New Zealand initially took the lead with Finn Surman goal in the 15th minute. However, the tide turned in the second half as Egypt responded strongly. Mostafa Ziko equalized in the 58th minute, followed by Mohamed Salah giving Egypt the lead in the 67th minute. Trezeguet then capped off the win with a goal in the 82nd minute, adding the finishing touch to a fantastic comeback.
