Result Czech Republic - South Africa, Thursday 19, June 2026, World Cup Group A The Czech Republic and South Africa ended their Group A match at the FIFA World Cup in a 1-1 tie on Thursday, 18 June 2026 at Atlanta Stadium in Atlanta, GA. Both teams were eager to earn points after suffering defeats in their opening matches, putting them at risk of elimination from Group A. Michal Sadilek from the Czech Republic netted a goal in the 6th minute, which was one of the quickest goals of the tournament. South Africa's Teboho Mokoena managed to equalize for Bafana Bafana by scoring a penalty in the 83rd minute. This marked South Africa's first point in the tournament.

⚽️ In the 6th minute, the Czech Republic takes the lead with a goal from Michal Sadílek Hlozek. The Slavia Prague midfielder strikes a perfect left-footed shot past goalkeeper RonwenWilliams, thanks to a fantastic assist from Sojka.

⚽️ In the 83rd minute, South Africa levels the score as Teboho Mokoena successfully converts a penalty. Mokoena strikes the ball into the bottom-left corner, tricking Kovar in the process. The match is now tied.
