However, the situation is still quite risky for the rossoblu, as they are just one point ahead of Lecce and two points clear of Monza and Venezia, with Monza having a game in hand. On the other hand, Milan goes into the break with 18 points and is in danger of losing ground in the race for a Champions League spot.

Atalanta continues to chase the Scudetto! They triumphed in their Serie A Week 12 match  at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy. The team turned the game around against Udinese in the second half! After a strong first half from Runjaic’s players, who went ahead with a brilliant goal from Kamara, the Goddess took control in the second half. Bellanova, who came on after Zappacosta’s injury, was the key player. He assisted Pasalic’s decisive goal and then set up Tourè’s own goal with a clever low cross. Udinese’s attempts to fight back fell short, and Gasperini’s squad secured the three points.

Genoa and Como got a draw at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.  Genoa snatches a last-minute equalizer! Como must be feeling regret after having multiple opportunities to extend their lead in the second half, following Da Cunha’s first-half goal. They even had a Cutrone goal ruled out by VAR. However, in the second minute of injury time, they let in the equalizer. Vogliacco’s close-range effort from a corner proved to be the turning point. While the point doesn’t significantly benefit either team, it holds the most value for the rossoblù.

The derby was decided early on, with Weah finding the net after just 15 minutes with a simple tap-in. Although Torino attempted to improve in the second half, they failed to pose any real threat. In the closing moments, Conceicao, who had just come on, delivered a perfect assist for Yildiz’s header.

Juventus is riding high with an unbeaten streak of 19 games in Serie A, the longest among all teams in the top five European leagues. Meanwhile, Torino has struggled recently, suffering five losses in their last six matches. Still, in derby matches, predicting the outcome is always tricky!

The game starts…

Juventus opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Timothy Weah found the back of the net with a close-range right-footed shot, beating Torino’s goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic. Cambiaso made a speedy run down the left flank and unleashed a powerful shot, which Milinkovic-Savic managed to save, but Weah was quick to tap in the rebound.

The crowd at Juventus is buzzing with excitement! In the 84th minute, Kenan Yildiz scored a fantastic header right in the center. Francisco Conceição made it happen by racing down the right wing, looking up, and sending a gentle pass to Yildiz. He then dove in and expertly headed the ball past Milinkovic Savic.

Just in the nick of time! Cagliari pulled off a draw against AC Milan in the Serie A Week 12 clash on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Unipol Domus Stadium in Cagliari, Italy. This result brings Cagliari’s total to 10 points, putting them level with Como and Genoa. Francesco Camarda, at just 16 years and 244 days old, is now the second youngest player to start a Serie A match for Milan during the three-point era, following in the footsteps of Gigio Donnarumma, who debuted at 16 years and 242 days on October 25, 2015, against Sassuolo. Camarda is set to make his first start for Milan, as confirmed by Fonseca recently. With Morata unavailable and Abraham not performing at his peak, the Portuguese coach put his faith in the rising star from the Rossoneri youth academy.

After a stellar showing at the Bernabeu, Leao is back in the starting lineup for the league, playing in an attacking midfield role alongside Pulisic and Chukwueze. Reijnders and Fofana will anchor the midfield, while Maignan will be protected by Pavlovic and Thiaw in defense, with Theo on the left and Emerson Royal on the right.

The action starts…

In a thrilling start, Cagliari took the lead with a quick goal in the 2nd minute! Nadir Zortea scored with a well-placed right-footed shot into the bottom left corner. The assist came from Sebastiano Luperto, who capitalized on a corner conceded by Emerson Royal. Zortea, previously with Frosinone, made a fantastic first-time strike from inside the area after a slight deflection from Luperto, leaving Maignan with no chance as it found the far post. A brilliant shot that the French keeper could only retrieve from the back of the net.

AC Milan leveled the score at 1-1 in the 16th minute. Rafael Leão, the Portuguese forward, found the back of the net with a right-footed shot aimed at the bottom left corner, leaving Cagliari’s goalkeeper Alen Sherri with no chance. The assist came from Tijjani Reijnders, who delivered a fantastic ball that sailed over the Cagliari defense. Leão skillfully timed his run and executed a perfect lob that crossed the goal line.

Rafael Leão shines with a stunning brace! In the 40th minute, Leão breaks the deadlock with a precise right-footed shot to the center of the goal. Youssouf Fofana sets him up beautifully, threading a vertical pass between Zappa and Palomino. Leão skillfully evades the initial challenge and slots the ball home with his right foot after maneuvering past Sherri.

What a wild ride! In the 53rd minute, Cagliari brought the score level with a brilliant goal. Gabriele Zappa, who sent a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner. The number 28 sprinted towards the ball, skillfully evaded Maignan.

AC Milan took the lead once more in the 69th minute. Tammy Abraham scored from just a few feet away, placing a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner. After the Rossoneri’s quick restart, Loftus-Cheek set up Pulisic on the right side. Pulisic’s left-footed attempt was saved by Sherri, but the rebound landed at Abraham’s feet, allowing him to score into an empty net. Milan is leading again!

What a moment! Cagliari leveled the score in the 89th minute. Gabriele Zappa delivered a fantastic right-footed shot to the top right corner, thanks to an assist from Tommaso Augello. Zappa’s sensational volley left Maignan with no chance and ignited a celebration at Unipol Domus. This is a remarkable brace for the rossoblu winger, who had only scored once in Serie A before this match.

What an amazing match! Lecce and Empoli wrapped up Serie A Week 12 with a thrilling draw on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Via del Mare Stadium in Lecce, Italy. As they look ahead to their upcoming games against Monza and Venezia, Lecce climbs out of the bottom spot in the standings, now just one point behind their competitors. Meanwhile, Empoli levels up with Bologna, both sitting at 15 points.

The match at Via del Mare showcased two contrasting halves. In the opening 30 minutes, neither team managed a shot on target, with Empoli showing more energy and aggression than the home side. Pietro Pellegri broke the deadlock, and the Tuscans controlled the game well until half-time. However, the second half saw a shift in momentum, particularly with the introduction of Sansone. Lecce created numerous chances, hitting the crossbar twice, but ultimately the game ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving Lecce with a sense of missed opportunities after a strong second-half performance.

In a vital showdown for Lecce, they will be up against Venezia at the Penzo Stadium, with the match scheduled for Monday, November 25, at 20:45. Venezia is trailing by just one point and has a game in hand. Additionally, on the same day, Empoli will be playing at home against Udinese at 18:30.

Empoli opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when Pietro Pellegri found the net with a right-footed shot aimed at the bottom left corner. The setup came from Liberato Cacace, who launched a counterattack after a swift run down the left wing. Cacace skillfully delivered the ball to his teammate, who expertly controlled it with his knee before finishing with his right foot into the corner!

Lecce found the equalizer in the 77th minute when Santiago Pierotti scored with a header into the bottom right corner. Antonino Gallo provided the assist. The play started with Gallo recovering the ball in midfield and then moving it down the left side with Dorgu. Pierotti tracked the entire play, making his way into the box just in time to meet the cross. His header caught Vasquez off guard!

Stats before the game:

Following their latest victory over Empoli in Serie A (1-0 at Via del Mare, with Nicola Sansone scoring the decisive goal on April 13), Lecce has the chance to secure back-to-back wins against this rival for the first time in the league. At home, Lecce has been strong against Empoli, remaining unbeaten in four out of five encounters (2 wins, 2 draws). Empoli have lost just one of their last six Serie A away games (W3 D3), scoring in each of those six; in particular, after drawing in their last away game at Parma, the Tuscan team could draw two away games in a row in the competition for the first time since May 2023 (vs Sampdoria and Hellas Verona in that case).

In 21 Serie A games at the helm of Lecce, Luca Gotti has an average of exactly 1.00 points per game, while Roberto D’Aversa in the 28 games in which he coached Lecce last season had an average of 0.89 per game.
Empoli have kept five clean sheets in 11 matches in this tournament (equalling their record at this point in the top flight, set in 1998/99): only Juventus (eight) and Napoli (seven) have done better than the Tuscan team (five, like Fiorentina and Inter) in this Serie A.

Genoa ended the Serie A Week 12 match against Como with a draw on Thursday 7 November 2024, at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa.  Genoa snatches a last-minute equalizer! Como must be feeling regret after having multiple opportunities to extend their lead in the second half, following Da Cunha’s first-half goal. They even had a Cutrone goal ruled out by VAR. However, in the second minute of injury time, they let in the equalizer. Vogliacco’s close-range effort from a corner proved to be the turning point. While the point doesn’t significantly benefit either team, it holds the most value for the rossoblù.

Como took charge in the 17th minute when Lucas da Cunha netted a goal with a left-footed shot into the bottom left corner, assisted by Nico Paz. Pinamonti’s blunder in his own half led to a turnover, which Paz quickly exploited. He recovered the ball and set up Da Cunha, who struck a precise right-footed shot from the edge, beating Genoa goalkeeper Nicola Leali to score!

An unforgettable climax! In the 91st minute, Genoa pulled off a stunning equalizer, making it 1-1. Alessandro Vogliacco scored with a well-placed right-footed shot into the bottom left corner, outsmarting Como’s goalkeeper Pepe Reina. The assist was provided by Andrea Pinamonti, who skillfully headed the ball following a corner conceded by Marco Sala.
