Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
AS Roma, 5th position with 66 points and a positive goal difference of +19
Torino, 11th position with 44 points and a positive goal difference of -4

Torino lost to AS Roma in the Serie A Week 38 match on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium in Turin, Italy.  Roma concluded the season on a high note.   Roma triumphed in Turin with a score of 2-0, thanks to a penalty from Paredes and a goal from Saelemaekers. The contest at the Olimpico Grande Torino was never in doubt; however, the one at the Penzo was, sadly for Paulo Dybala and his teammates.

For their performance, for the points they accumulated, and for their unwavering belief. They came so close, and the disappointed expressions of the players tonight in Turin reflect the remarkable achievement of a team that endured 10 grueling months.

Mourinho was let go in January, De Rossi in September, and Juric in November. When Ranieri took over, Roma was deep in a relegation struggle, yet tonight they found themselves competing in the Champions League for an extended period. Although they fell short, today, three years after that unforgettable night in Tirana, there is a hint of hope. They will still participate in the Europa League, as Budapest awaits, eager for retribution.

The game …

Roma scored first in the 18th minute. Leandro Paredes successfully converted a penalty with a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner. The penalty was awarded after Ali Dembélé committed a foul in the penalty area on Alexis Saelemaekers.

In the 53rd minute, Alexis Saelemaekers scores his seventh goal of the season, marking Roma’s second goal of the night. Saelemaekers found the net with a header directed to the bottom left corner. The assist came from Matías Soulé, who delivered a precise cross.

Stats before the game

Torino has managed to win only one of their last 10 Serie A encounters with Roma (D2 L7), having lost the last two. The Granata have not faced at least three consecutive defeats against the Giallorossi in this competition since a streak of five losses between 2017 and 2019.

Roma has emerged victorious in both encounters against Torino that took place on matchday 38 of Serie A: 3-2 at home on May 31, 2009 (with goals for the Giallorossi from Jérémy Menez, Mirko Vucinic, and Francesco Totti, while Tommaso Vailatti and Nicola Ventola scored for the Granata) and 3-0 away on May 20, 2022.

Roma has claimed five of their last seven away games against Torino in Serie A (D1 L1), matching the same number of victories they achieved in the previous 19 away matches against the Granata in the league (W5 D10 L4).

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Lazio, 6th position with 65 points and a positive goal difference of +13
Lecce, 18th position with 31 points and a negative goal difference of -32

Lecce won the Serie A Week 38 match on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy.  Lazio only needed a single point to secure their place in Europe, but instead, the home loss to Lecce, combined with Fiorentina’s win in Udine, leaves Baroni’s team without any cup competitions this season. It’s a complete mockery; Coulibaly rescues Giampaolo from Serie B, while the worst-case scenario unfolds for the Biancocelesti in front of a stunned crowd at the Olimpico.

The match ends with nothing but boos, despite Lazio playing with eleven against ten for an entire half after Pierotti received a red card (double yellow) during first-half stoppage time. Baroni’s squad gives it their all, launching a full-on assault, with Pedro and Castellanos coming close to scoring multiple times, but Lecce’s defense holds strong, allowing the Salento team to triumph at the Olimpico and secure three crucial points for their survival. For Lazio, the season concludes in the most disappointing manner, especially as they finish the match with ten players after Romagnoli’s red card (for putting his hands on the linesman during a moment of frustration).

Lecce gained the advantage in the 43rd minute. Lassana Coulibaly netted a goal with a right-footed strike from the center of the box into the bottom right corner, thanks to an assist from Nikola Krstovic. Lecce opens the scoring! Gila made an error while coming out and lost possession, allowing Giampaolo’s team to recover and advance towards the goal with Coulibaly, who skillfully maneuvered in and outsmarted goalkeeper Christos Mandas.

Stats before the game

Lazio has hosted Lecce at home 17 times in Serie A, suffering only one defeat (W11 D5); the Biancocelesti have experienced fewer home losses against teams they have faced at least 15 times at home in the league, with only Empoli (W11 D4) having a better record. Lecce managed to win their last league match after enduring a streak of 13 games without a victory (5D, 8L) and have not secured back-to-back wins in Serie A since April 2024. Lecce has netted exactly one goal in each of their last four away matches in Serie A; the Apulians have not gone five consecutive away games without scoring in a single season since September-November 2019.

For the Biancocelesti, a draw would guarantee them sixth place. Lazio has triumphed in their last two Serie A encounters with Lecce and hasn’t achieved three consecutive victories against the Apulians in this competition since the stretch from 2001 to 2004, during which they recorded four straight wins under coaches Alberto Zaccheroni and Roberto Mancini.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Atalanta, 3rd position with 74 points and a positive goal difference of +42
Parma, 16th position with 33 points and a negative goal difference of -15

Parma defeated Atalanta in the Serie A Week 38 match on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Gewiss Stadium located in Bergamo, Italy.  Atalanta finishes the season in third place, securing a spot in the Champions League. Parma ends up fifth from the bottom with 36 points.

Parma manages to turn the game around and saves themselves.   Daniel Maldini with a brace in the 32nd and 33rd minute.  Christian Chivu’s squad enters the second half fiercely and quickly finds a glimmer of hope with the new player Antoine Hainaut (’49), who believes in the play and unleashes an unstoppable shot past Carnesecchi. Both teams create many opportunities, but it is the yellow and blues who equalize, thanks to another newcomer, Ondrejka. The Swede, in the 71st minute, is assisted by Bonny and scores against Carnesecchi. Ondrejka misses a chance to take the lead but in the 91st minute, he nets the goal for 3-2, assisted by Bernabé.

Atalanta is celebrating Mateo Retegui as the top scorer of the 2024-25 Season, having scored 25 goals.

Atalanta gained the advantage in the 32nd minute. Daniel Maldini found the net with a left-footed strike into the bottom right corner. Raoul Bellanova provided the assist with a well-placed cross. De Ketelaere set up Bellanova again, delivering a cross into the center, and Maldini made a sliding finish!

In the 33rd minute, Daniel Maldini found the net with a right-footed shot aimed at the top right corner. Mateo Retegui provided the assist. There was little time to enjoy the lead as the Nerazzurri continued their offensive, with the ball moving to Retegui, who then set it up for Maldini: a curling shot from the right, and the ball hit the back of the net!

Image

In the 49th minute, Parma closed the gap. Antoine Hainaut found the net with a right-footed shot aimed at the bottom right corner. Ondrejka passed to Hainaut, who then set up Pellegrino. The ball came back to the Frenchman, and he unleashed a powerful shot that left Carnesecchi with no opportunity to save it!

Parma leveled the score to 2-2 in the 71st minute. Jacob Ondrejka netted a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner. The assist came from Ange-Yoan Bonny. What a fantastic pass from Bonny to Ondrejka, who created the space for a shot that slipped past Carnesecchi on the left!

Parma clinched the winning goal in the 91st minute. Jacob Ondrejka found the net with a left-footed strike from the center of the box into the bottom left corner. He was assisted by Adrián Bernabé.

Stats before the game

If they secure a win on the last day, Atalanta would conclude this championship with 77 points in the standings, just one point shy of their highest total in a single Serie A season: 78, achieved in both 2019/20 and 2020/21. Furthermore, the Goddess (who conceded 34 goals in 2024/25) could achieve their best season regarding goals conceded in the 20-team Serie A format (their best result to date at the end of the championship is 39 goals conceded in 2017/18).

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
AC Milan, 9th position with 60 points and a positive goal difference of +16
Monza, 20th position with 18 points and a negative goal difference of -39

🇮🇹  AC Milan defeated Monza in the Serie A Week 38 match on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. Monza has already been relegated to Serie B for the next season, sitting at the bottom of the table.  A disappointing season wraps up for AC Milan, who will miss out on European Cups next year. This is the first time since the 2019-2020 season that this has occurred, although back then it was due to their expulsion from the Cups for not adhering to Financial Fair Play regulations.

The stakes are high for Milan. Perhaps this will be a season of renewal for them, as they focus solely on the league. Similar to Napoli, who took advantage of this situation to triumph over Inter in the Scudetto race.

In the 64th minute, Milan took the lead. Matteo Gabbia found the net with a header directed to the bottom right corner. The assist came from Samuel Chukwueze, who delivered a cross after a corner was conceded by Pedro Pereira. From the corner taken by Chukwueze, Gabbia’s header managed to beat Pizzignacco at the near post. This gives the Rossoneri a well-deserved advantage.

Milan increased their advantage in the 74th minute. João Félix netted a goal from a free kick, striking with his right foot into the bottom left corner, surpassing Pizzignacco.

Stats before the game

There have been no ties between Milan and Monza in Serie A, with the Rossoneri securing four victories and the Brianza team one; these five encounters have also averaged 3.2 goals per match. The two matches held at San Siro between Milan and Monza resulted in the Rossoneri triumphing with a combined score of 7-1; the Brianza teams have only allowed more away goals in Serie A against Atalanta (10) and Roma (eight).

Milan has experienced 16 losses in the 2024/25 season across all competitions. Only in three seasons have the Rossoneri faced more defeats in official matches since 1929/30: those seasons are 2013/14, 1996/97, and 1973/74, with each having 17 losses.

In this championship, Milan has secured eight home victories (7 draws, 3 losses). Over the last 20 seasons, since Serie A returned to 20 teams in 2004/05, they have only failed to achieve at least nine home wins twice: in 2007/08 and 2020/21, where they managed eight wins in both instances.

Should Monza lose, they would conclude this championship with 18 points in the standings. In the era of three points for a win, only four teams have ended a Serie A season with fewer points: Brescia with 12 in 1994/95, Napoli with 14 in 1997/98, Ancona with 13 in 2003/04, and Salernitana with 17 in 2023/24.

Player Stats

Monza is one of the two teams, alongside Empoli, against which Tijjani Reijnders has scored more than once in Serie A (two goals each); with 10 goals and four assists, the Dutch player could be the first central midfielder for Milan to achieve at least 15 active contributions in a season since Franck Kessie in 2020/21 (17).

If Christian Pulisic scores, he will match his personal best for goals in a season within the Big-5 European leagues (12 with Milan in 2023/24). Additionally, with one more active participation, he would set a new personal record in these competitions: 20 contributions in Serie A 2024/25 (11 goals and 9 assists), similar to his last season’s performance (12 goals and 8 assists).

Gianluca Caprari has contributed to a goal in each of his last two Serie A matches (one goal and one assist) and has not had three consecutive games with active involvement in the league since his time with Hellas Verona between January and February 2022, when he had a streak of four consecutive games.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Genoa, 13th position with 40 points and a negative goal difference of -14
Bologna, 8th position with 62 points and a positive goal difference of +12

Bologna FC lost to Genoa CFC in the Serie A Week 38 match on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy.  Bologna wraps up its championship with 62 points, securing a spot in the next Europa League due to their Coppa Italia victory. On the other hand, Genoa ends the season in thirteenth place with 43 points.

A flawless first half is sufficient for Genoa to triumph over Bologna. The hosts respond in the second half with their reliable player, Riccardo Orsolini, but it falls short. Lorenzo Venturino’s brace and Vitinha’s goal provide a fantastic finish for Vieira’s squad.

The game…

In the 18th minute, Vítinha scores for Genoa with a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner. Aarón Martín provides the assist with a cross after a corner given away by Nicolò Casale. Once again, Martín assists, this time from a corner, locating Vitinha, who skillfully controls the ball and finishes with a right-footed shot.

Genoa is fired up! In the 26th minute, Lorenzo Venturino found the net with a right-footed shot aimed at the bottom left corner. The young Grifone striker takes charge and, after a brilliant run with the ball, successfully outsmarts goalkeeper Ravaglia with a skillfully executed right-footed cross shot.

Speaking of inspiration! At the 43rd minute, Lorenzo Venturino netted a goal with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. Vítinha provided the assist. Once again, Vitinha showcases his brilliance by getting past Casale and sending a wonderful ball to Venturino, who cleverly anticipates Holm and scores.

Bologna closed the gap in the 64th minute. Riccardo Orsolini found the net with a left-footed strike aimed at the upper center of the goal. The assist came from Nicolò Casale. It was a magnificent goal from the rossoblù winger, who controlled the ball with his chest before volleying it with his left foot, leaving the unsuspecting goalkeeper Daniele Sommariva with no chance.

Stats before the game:

Bologna has managed to win only one of their last 11 Serie A encounters with Genoa (D5 L5); since the 2018/19 season, they have recorded fewer victories only against Juventus (D6 L8) and Benevento (D1 L1).

Bologna has faced defeats in their last two Serie A matches, allowing a total of six goals, which is equal to the number they conceded in their previous nine matches in the league; they haven’t lost three consecutive league games since January 2022.

In 2025, Bologna has remained unbeaten at home in the league, achieving seven wins and three draws for a total of 24 points; only Roma (26 points) have performed better than the Emilians in the current calendar year.

Genoa has suffered four losses in their last five league matches (D1), matching the number of defeats they had in their previous 15 matches in the competition (W6 L5); the Ligurians could end up with just one point or fewer in their last six Serie A games of the season for the first time since 1991/92 (which would result in six defeats).

Genoa has not won any of their last 10 away league matches (D5 L5); this is their worst performance under a single coach in Serie A since the period from October 2009 to April 2010 (12 away games without a win under Gian Piero Gasperini during that time).

Buy Serie A tickets for every Italian League football game
Player Stats:

Riccardo Orsolini has scored 14 goals in this season, including two in the last two matches; the Bologna player has already netted in three consecutive games this season (four between October and November) and could be the first Rossoblù to hit 15 goals in a single Serie A season since Marco Di Vaio in 2010/11 (19).

Aarón Martín has provided seven assists this season, with the last Genoa player to do better being Andrea Bertolacci in 2014/15 (eight); additionally, the Rossoblù player has made a winning pass in each of his last three appearances, and the last player from Liguria to achieve this for four consecutive matches was Rodrigo Palacio between May and September 2011, spanning two seasons.

Andrea Pinamonti, who scored a brace in the last match, bringing his total to 10 goals this season, could become the first Italian to exceed 10 goals in three of the last four Serie A seasons; considering all nationalities, only Lautaro Martínez, Olivier Giroud, Victor Osimhen, and Ademola Lookman have accomplished this.
