Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Cremonese, 20th position with 13 points and a negative goal difference of -27
Atalanta, 6th position with 45 points and a positive goal difference of +13

Cremonese lost the Serie A Week 28 game on Saturday 1 April 2023 at the Giovanni Zini Stadium in Cremona, Italy.  Cremonese remain in the last position and the need to earn points is a must or face relegation next season.  Atalanta conquered the ”Zini’.”  The victory thanks to the goals by Marten de Roon’s advantage in the first half, then Jeremie Boga and Ademola Lookman cancel Daniel Ciofani’s equalizer from the penalty spot.

Surele, this a desperate situation for Cremonese who face Fiorentina on Wednesday for the semi-final of the Italian Cup.

In the next round, on Easter Saturday, Atalanta-Bologna and Sampdoria-Cremonese are played.

Atalanta opened the score in the 44th minute. Marten de Roon defeated Cremonese goalkeeper with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. This is de Roon’s second goal in a row.

Cremonese equalized in the 56th minute through Daniel Ciofani, who converted a penalty kick. A penalty was conceded by Rafael Tolói after a handball.

Atalanta took back the leadership in the 72nd minute with the goal by Jeremie Boga. The victory was sealed in the 93rd minute with a goal by Ademola Lookman.

Image

✅   Stats before the game: Atalanta is the team against which Cremonese have drawn the most matches in Serie A: seven out of 11, a gray and red success and three victories by the Goddess complete the picture. Cremonese have remained unbeaten in their last six matches against Atalanta in Serie A (W1, D5), the last Nerazzurri success against the Grigiorossi in the top division dates back to 29 September 1991 (2-1 with goals from Glenn Strömberg and Careca for Atalanta). Great balance in the five matches between Cremonese and Atalanta at the home of the Grigiorossi in Serie A: one win for each side and three draws, including the one in the most recent match at Zini: 1-1 on 22 October 1995, with Luigi Simoni at the helm of the Grigiorossi and Emiliano Mondonico coach of the Nerazzurri. Only Udinese (11) have drawn more games than Cremonese (10) this Serie A season. What’s more, it was since 2014/15 that a newly promoted team had not drawn at least 10 of their first 27 matches in a Serie A championship: Empoli (15) and Palermo (11) in that case.

Lineup Cremonese: Carnesecchi, Aiwu, Bianchetti, Lochoshvili, Benassi, Pickel, Meité, Castagnetti, Valeri, Tsadjout, Ciofani.

Lineup Atalanta: Musso, Toloi, Palomino, Scalvini, Zappacosta, de Roon, Éderson, Ruggeri, Pašalić, Zapata, Muriel.

Italian Soccer Serie A

Hello, my friends. Here are the 2022-2023 Italian Serie A Week 27 RESULTS / Twenty-seventh Round on Friday 17, Saturday 18, and Sunday 19 March 2023.  Napoli remain the sole leader with 71 points.  The news is that Inter lost the 2nd position stepping down to the 3rd position after losing the Derby D’Italia against Juventus.   Lazio defeated AS Roma in the Derby della Capitale and overtook the 2nd position with 52 points while Inter remain with 50 points.

Sassuolo have won four consecutive matches in Serie A TIM for the first time since April 2021 and obtained their first clean sheet against Spezia in the top division.

Gian Piero Gasperini (802) became the 4th manager to cross the milestone of 800 points in Serie A, also taking into account victories, in the three points for a win era (since 1994/95), after Luciano Spalletti (974 ), Carlo Ancelotti (948) and Massimiliano Allegri (926).

Sassuolo scored 19 points in the eight matchdays of the second round, already two more than the entire tally of the first round (17).

In the last 50 years among Atalanta players aged under 21, only Domenico Morfeo has scored more goals in a single Serie A season in 1995/96 (11) than Rasmus Højlund (seven in 2022/23).

Daniel Ciofani is the oldest player in the top-5 of the 2022-23 European championships among those who have scored more than 5 goals.

Only Jeremie Frimpong (13) has participated in more goals than Carlos Augusto (9, including 5 goals) among the defenders of the top-5 European leagues 2022-23.

Lewis Ferguson is the fourth Scottish player to score at least four goals in a Serie A season, following Denis Law in 1961/62 (10), Graeme Souness in 1984/85 (5) and Aaron Hickey in 2021/22 (5). .

Charalampos Lykogiannis’ goal following an assist from Giorgios Kyriakopoulos is the first by a Greek player following an assist from another Greek in Serie A TIM since 14 December 2014 (in that case Christodoulopoulos after Tachtsidis’ winning pass against Udinese with Verona) .

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the oldest goalscorer in Serie A history (41 years and 166 days), surpassing Alessandro Costacurta (41 years and 25 days, in May 2007).

In the era of three points for a win, only Olivier Bierhoff (36) and Roberto Muzzi (45) took fewer games than Beto (55) to score 20 goals in Serie A for the Friulians.
