Sassuolo and Salernitana ended the Serie A Week 12 game with a draw on Friday 10 November 2023 at the Mapei Stadium in Sassuolo, Italy. With one point gained, Salernitana remained in the last position but brought home a great performance. Sassuolo is in 14th position with one point more than Genoa.

A very intense and heated match with Salernitana immediately taking a double lead thanks to goals from Ikwuemesi after 5 minutes and from Boulaye Dia. During the match, Dionisi’s team grew with a great Thorstvedt who scored his first brace in Serie A. Many opportunities in the second half especially for Sassuolo, impeccable goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa was in great form and denied the goal several times saving his teammates.

We return to the pitch after the national break. Sassuolo the match against Empoli is on Sunday 26 November, Salernitana will play the day before against Lazio.

What a quick start! Salernitana opened the score in the 5th minute. Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi defeated Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli with a right-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Pasquale Mazzocchi.

Sassuolo conceded another goal in the 17th minute. Boulaye Dia scored with a right-footed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Loum Tchaouna.

Sassuolo shortened the distance in the 36th minute before ending the first half.  Kristian Thorstvedt defeated Salernitana goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa from very close range with a left-footed shot to the center. The headed assist is by Grégoire Defrel.

Sassuolo equalized in the 53rd minute. It is Kristian Thorstvedt to score a brace with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Matías Viña.

✅    Stats before the game: After remaining unbeaten in the first three matches against Salernitana in Serie A (2W, 1D), Sassuolo lost the most recent match against the Campania region (0-3 against Arechi on 22 April). Here are the 2023-2024 Italian Serie A Serie A Week 11 RESULTS / Eleventh Round on Friday 3, Saturday 4, Sunday 5, and Monday 6 November 2023.  The battle for the Scudetto apparently is a three-way race.   Yet, the situation has changed a little bit.  Inter are consolidating as the sole leader with 28 points.  The bad news is for AC Milan who were in the 2nd position and after losing the home game against Udinese stepped down to the 3rd position remaining with 22 points.  Now, it is Juventus with 26 points who are challenging directly Inter because they are only -2 points below  Inter

Here are some stats by Opta,Bologna have collected 18 points in their first 11 Serie A matches, their best result in this part of the competition since 2002/03 (19). Bologna are unbeaten in their last 10 Serie A matches for the first time since December 1979-March 1980 under the guidance of Marino Perani.

Torino won the Serie A Week 11 game on Monday 6 November 2023 at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium in Turin, Italy. Second consecutive victory for Torino, who after Lecce also found home success after two months. Surely, this is a deserved victory for Torino, who after Antonio Sanabria took the lead at the start, suffered an equalizer from Thorstvedt in one of Sassuolo’s rare offensive outings. In the second half Tameze made his second assist of the evening by serving the ball to Vlasic to make it 2-1, who came close to securing the goal several times but risked it in the final with the crossbar hit by Laurientè.

Frosinone win the Serie A Week 11 game on Monday 6 November 2023 at the Benito Stirpe Stadium in Frosinone, Italy. Empoli failed to win and remain in the relegation zone. Aurelio Andreazzoli’s team, second to last with 7 points. Frosinone celebrating this victory after two consecutive defeats, including the latest 4-3 in Cagliari.

This is the fourth success of the season in the championship for Frosinone, which rose to eleventh place in the standings with 15 points, two away from the Europe zone. On the other hand, it is Empoli second consecutive defeat, two points away from safety.

Empoli shortened the distance in the 86th minute. Francesco Caputo defeated Frosinone goalkeeper Stefano Turati with a headed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Nicolò Cambiaghi.

Juventus with the chance to get closer to the leaders after winning the Serie A Week 11 on Sunday 5 November 2023 at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence, Italy.   Juventus reached 26 points and are now above  AC Milan in the 3rd position. Fiorentina, at their third consecutive stop, remains at 17 points and is caught by Roma in seventh place.  A cynical Juventus took home the victory thanks to a goal from Miretti in the first half. For most of the match, Fiorentina tried to find openings and finish toward Szczesny’s goal but continually crashed into the wall erected by the Juventus defense.
