Serie A Standing BEFORE the game
Lazio, 7h position with 16 points and a positive goal difference of +1
Bologna, 8th position with 15 points and a positive goal difference of +3

Bologna won the Serie A Week 11 game defeating Lazio on Friday 3 November 2023 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy.  This is the 10th consecutive useful result for Bologna. With this victory, Thiago Motta’s team rose to provisional sixth place in the standings (18 points). The bad news is for Lazio because they collected their fifth knockout in this championship, remaining on 16 points.

In the next, Bologna will play the away game against Fiorentina. Lazio will play the home game against AS Roma, but in the Derby della Capitale that can already be worth a lot in the season.

Bologna opened the score in the 46th minute, just starting the second half. It is Lewis Ferguson to defeat Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Joshua Zirkzee.

✅   Stats before the game: Lazio remained unbeaten in 18 of the last 20 matches against Bologna in the top flight (10W, 8D), although the two defeats in the set came in the three most recent away matches against the rossoblù: 27 February 2021 (0-2 ) and October 3, 2021 (0-3). Bologna have kept a clean sheet in each of their last three home games against Lazio in Serie A, recording two wins and a draw: in their history they have never achieved more consecutive clean sheets at home against the Biancocelesti in the competition. Lazio is the team against which Bologna has scored the most goals in Serie A (187), while on the other hand, the Biancocelesti have scored 196 goals against the Rossoblù in the competition, only against Fiorentina have they scored more ( 207). Bologna have not lost any of their last nine league games (W3, D6), the last time they remained unbeaten in 10 games in a row in Serie A was between December 1979 and March 1980, with Marino Perani on the bench. Lazio have won all of their last three championship matches, after having achieved only two successes in the first seven played in 2023/24 (1D, 4L); the last time the Biancocelesti recorded four victories in a row in Serie A was last April. Bologna have lost just one of their last 12 home games in Serie A (W5, D6) – against Milan on 21 August – and have kept a clean sheet in half of those games, including two of their last three.
