Disciplinary Situation before the game: Sampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is suspended for this game.
No suspended players for Sampdoria neither Inter

What a game!  Inter claiming a poker victory at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium to secure the 5th position. However, this awaited Sampdoria – Inter had extra emotion because there was the confrontation between the two ex Argentinian teammates Maximo Lopez and Mauro Icardi.  The whole thing because Inter forward Icardi is going out now with the Wanda Nara the ex wife of Sampdoria forward Maxi Lopez.  By the way, Wanda was not at the Stadium.

Icardi whistled by some of his ex fans who are loyal to Lopez.   The duel Icardi-Lopez seeing as winner Icardi who scored two goals in the 13th and 63rd minute while Lopez failed to convert a penalty in the 18th minute.   Before the game, Lopez even refused to shake hands with Icardi and ignored him turning his eyes to the other side.

Here is the thing with an all Argentinian goal.  It is Sampdoria forward Mauro Icardi to open the score in the 13th minute.   The assist by Argentinian forward Rodrigo Palacio to his fellow teammate Icardi defeating Sampdoria goalkeeper Junior Costa with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner.  A painful goal for Sampdoria fans and players.  Making matters worst, Referee Valeri giving a yellow card to Sampdoria defender Andrea Costa who was in the bench among the substitutes after insulting forward Icardi for his goal celebration.

The climax arriving in the 17th minute when Referee Valeri gives a penalty to Sampdoria.  The moment for Sampdoria to equalize and the duel between Icardi-Lopez gaining momentum.  The penalty conceded by Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia for a foul on Sampdoria defender Daniele Gastaldello.  Well, fans rooting for Lopez when he walks towards the penalty spot.  An anxious moment and the time to level the score.  Yet, the unthinkable happened.  What?!  Well, hello, hello Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic saving Lopez’ right footed shot in the bottom left corner!   Can you imagine the frustration?  Wow, now, Lopez had to continue battle.

In the 60th minute, Inter increasing the score following a corner conceded by Sampdoria midfielder  Nenad Krsticic.  Again, an all Argentinian goal….. The assist by forward Rodrigo Palacio towards the center where defender Walter Samuel was ready for the headed shot defeating Sampdoria goalkeeper Costa in the bottom left corner.

Adding fuel to the fire… in the 63rd minute, the Ferraris silenced!  It is forward Icardi to score the third goal of the match after the assist by Rodrigo Palacio.  A game to forget for Sampdoria goalkeeper Costa defeated with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner.  It’s the 8th goal for Icardi this season.

Just to crown a perfect game for Inter, there it is the poker goal in the 79th minute.  Finally, the assist man forward Rodrigo Palacio got the chance to score a goal with a right footed shot defeating goalkeeper Costa in the bottom right corner.

Icardi: “Happy about my goals, but the team winning is all that matters”

GENOA
– Mauro Icardi was the main man in the Nerazzurri’s comfortable win over Sampdoria.
Following the match, he was the first Inter player to speak to Inter Channel: "All
the goals today were important, even those scored by Rodrigo and Walter: they meant
we were able to win the game. Perhaps my second goal was the more difficult one,
as it was a tricky ball to control. But then I just hit it and thought ‘Let’s see what happens’.

Was this game different to any other? It was certainly a
good game. Besides, it was nice to come back to the Marassi. And I’m not bothered
about the boos or the reaction of the fans. I started my career here and I won’t
ever forget that."

"My
good goal per game ratio? I didn’t expect to come back from injury and find
this sort of form straight away. My hernia was causing me a lot of
problems and every so often I still have a slight worry.

"Personal
objectives? I take each game as it comes. If I score, all well and good. I’m
happy, but the important thing is that the side won. And I want to do my best in
the remaining five games of the season. How important is it to play alongside Palacio?
I’ve always said I like playing alongside him as he’s very mobile. Today he set
up two goals. And the second was a real gift."

Inter Campus at the UN’s Youth Leadership Camp

BERLIN – Finally they were on the pitch together. The United Nations’ department for Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP) and Inter Campus met up once again after having formalized their collaboration in New York in 2012 at the UN building.
It was on the KienBaum pitch near Berlin that Inter Campus gave the educational training session for the Youth Leadership Camp’s football phase, organised by the UNOSDP.
The Youth Leadership Camp is an initiative created for young coaches between the ages of 18 and 25 who have distinguished themselves in their communities for their organisational skills and their dedication to sports projects for peace and development. These instructors are also able to benefit from the initiative since they lack the funds to participate in such specialised courses on sports and other disciplines.
The Berlin Camp focused in particular on thirty young Africans hosted by the UNOSDP after having been recommended by several non-profit organisations throughout the world, many of which are Inter Campus partners.
This was the case for Samrach Poeng, an instructor with the Mission Possible NPO, an Inter Campus partner in Cambodia. He was able to participate in the recent Youth Leadership Camp in Tokyo, which was dedicated to coaches in Southeast Asia.
Other young men and women arrived from Ghana, Congo, Kenya and South Africa and were able to take part in these two intense days of lessons both on the pitch and in the classroom.
It was an environment that fostered the exchange of ideas and opinions, and the Inter Campus staff of Alberto, Silvio, Aldo and Nicoletta tried to respond to all the participants’ questions as they listened to their fascinating and inspiring stories. It’s easy when everyone shares a common passion for sport and, most of all, football!

Kovacic: “Three points OK, but we can do better”

GENOA – A brilliant display from Mateo Kovacic this afternoon against Sampdoria. Here is what the Nerazzuri midfielder told Inter Channel: “We played well to win the game although we could certainly have played even better. We did play for a long time with a man advantage and we’re very happy with these three points. It was an extremely important game. We were very focused. We’re happy with the 4-0 scoreline, now we’re looking forward to the game against Parma.

"Mazzarri said that the Inter of the future will be built around Mateo Kovacic? I want to thank the coach for his words of praise. But today I’m just happy with the win. I’m not looking too far ahead in terms of my future, I’m just thinking about our training session tomorrow and that we have to focus on the next game. This week we’ll work hard on preparing as well as possible, as we want to put in another fantastic performance against Parma.”

Handanovic: “The penalty? An important save”

GENOA – At the end of the first half of Sampdoria v Inter, Samir
Handanovic spoke briefly to Sky Sport Italia:

Here are his words:

"Making saves is my job. That penalty save was important
considering how the game has gone. But now we have to wake up, because Samp are
causing us problems even playing a man down.

"Maybe the comebacks we suffered in recent matches are influencing
our game. In my opinion it’s something psychological."
