Icardi: “Happy about my goals, but the team winning is all that matters”

GENOA
– Mauro Icardi was the main man in the Nerazzurri’s comfortable win over Sampdoria.
Following the match, he was the first Inter player to speak to Inter Channel: "All
the goals today were important, even those scored by Rodrigo and Walter: they meant
we were able to win the game. Perhaps my second goal was the more difficult one,
as it was a tricky ball to control. But then I just hit it and thought ‘Let’s see what happens’.

Was this game different to any other? It was certainly a
good game. Besides, it was nice to come back to the Marassi. And I’m not bothered
about the boos or the reaction of the fans. I started my career here and I won’t
ever forget that."

"My
good goal per game ratio? I didn’t expect to come back from injury and find
this sort of form straight away. My hernia was causing me a lot of
problems and every so often I still have a slight worry.

"Personal
objectives? I take each game as it comes. If I score, all well and good. I’m
happy, but the important thing is that the side won. And I want to do my best in
the remaining five games of the season. How important is it to play alongside Palacio?
I’ve always said I like playing alongside him as he’s very mobile. Today he set
up two goals. And the second was a real gift."
