Inter keep the first position winning the Serie A Week 23 game defeating Venezia at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.  Inter reaching 53 points – minus one game to recover.   Inter overturning the result after Venezia took the lead to claim the victory in the 90th minute with hero Edin Dzeko scoring the winner goal.

The big duel ended with a sour feeling.  AC Milan failing to win the Serie A Week 23 game against Juventus at the San Siro Stadium.   This is a blow for Milan because they are losing points and stepping down from the 2nd to the 3rd position.  Milan with 49 points sharing Napoli also with 49.  Napoli take the 2nd position because they have a better goal difference +27 compared to Milan +22.  AC Milan being -6 points below Inter in the 1st position with 53 points.

Hellas Verona win the Serie A Week 23 game defeating Bologna at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium.  Great victory for Hellas Verona overturning the result after Bologna took the lead.  Verona reaching 33 points while Bologna remain with 27 points.

Genoa continue crying out loud for help.  Genoa failing to win the Serie A Week 23 game against Udinese ending with a goalless draw sharing one point each.  However, we might consider a positive result for Coach Alexander Blessin on his debut with Genoa getting his first point in Italy.  Genoa remain second-bottom in Serie A after their 20th match without a victory reaching 13 points, five behind Venezia who are in the 17th position.

Atalanta failing the mission to win the Serie A Week 23 game ending with a goalless draw against Lazio at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium.   However, Atalanta with this one point keeping up the race to grab the third position.  Atalanta have now remained unbeaten in their last 18 league away games (13W, 5D): the last team to do better in Serie A was Juventus in 2019, when they reached 26 away games without defeat.  Lazio also with the needed victory risking to lose the 6th position.

Hellas Verona win the Serie A Week 23 game defeating Bologna on Friday 21 January 2022 in Verona, Italy.  Great victory for Hellas Verona overturning the result after Bologna took the lead.  Verona reaching 33 points while Bologna remain with 27 points.  Previously, Bologna have lost five of their last six Serie A games (1W), after having won four of their previous five (1) – in the period, from 4 December onwards, no Serie A team has lost more games than Bologna and only Genoa earned fewer points (two).

Bologna opening the score in the 14th minute. It is Riccardo Orsolini to defeat Hellas Verona goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò with a left footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Roberto Soriano.

✅  Stats before the game.  Verona has not won in Serie A against Bologna since April 2016, when Luigi Delneri was on the bench (1-0 with a goal from Samir): since then four rossoblù wins (including the first leg) and three draws.  Verona have scored 41 goals in this league, a record for the Gialloblù after 22 Serie A games: the previous record was 37 goals in 2013/14 – in the era of three points to win never a team with 30 or fewer points later as many games he had scored so much.  Having won their first five consecutive home games under the guidance of Igor Tudor in Serie A, Verona have not achieved even one success in the most recent four (2D, 2L).  Bologna have not drawn away matches in Serie A since October against Udinese: since then for the rossoblù three wins and three defeats – it is since December 2020 that the Emilian team have no longer left away matches without draws (eight in that case).
