Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
AC Milan, 2nd position with 48 points and a positive goal difference of +22
Juventus, 5th position with 41 point and a positive goal difference of +13

The big duel ended with a sour feeling.  AC Milan failing to win the Serie A Week 23 game against Juventus on Sunday 23 January 2022 at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.   This is a blow for Milan because they are losing points and stepping down from the 2nd to the 3rd position.  Milan with 49 points sharing Napoli also with 49.  Napoli take the 2nd position because they have a better goal difference +27 compared to Milan +22.  AC Milan being -6 points below Inter in the 1st position with 53 points.

Milan have remained unbeaten in three of the last four matches against Juventus in the league (2W, 1D), as many times as in the previous 17 games against the Bianconeri (2W, 1D, 14L).   After the 1-1 draw at the Stadium last September, Milan and Juventus could draw both Serie A matches for the first time since 1991/92.

Massimiliano Allegri has obtained 11 wins and four draws against Stefano Pioli in Serie A: he is the manager who has challenged a single manager several times in the competition in the era of three points per victory (15) without ever losing.
