Mission accomplished! AC Milan take the first position after winning the Serie A Week 25 game defeating Sampdoria at the San Siro Stadium.  The victory gives Milan 55 points overtaking the 1st position and sending Inter (54) to the second position.

Inter ending the Serie A Week 25 with a draw against Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. Napoli (53) and Inter (54) share one point each.   Good news for Inter is they still have the match against Bologna to recover. In the next round, Inter will play the home game against Sassuolo. Napoli will challenge Cagliari at the Unipol Domus.

The real play-off for the Champions League area between Atalanta and Juventus ended with a draw at the Gewiss Stadium.  Surely, a game full of emotions and opportunities.  Yet, a draw that does not help in the run-up to the top three but which confirms the fourth position of the Bianconeri and the fifth of Atalanta. Juventus found the equalizer goal in full recovery thanks to Danilo’s header from Dybala’s corner: previously Atalanta took the lead with Malinovskiy on a free-kick and very close to doubling with Hateboer, who hit a crossbar.

Lazio defeated Bologna at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium.   Lazio have not conceded a goal in four consecutive league games.  The victory helps Lazio to remain within the European zone reaching 42 points while Bologna remain with 28 points. In the next round  Lazio will play the away game against Udinese, Bologna will play at home with Spezia. Tris Lazio,  in the second half, Mattia Zaccagni is unleashed and scores a brace (53 ‘and 63’).  Muscle injury par Lazzari.

There is no way for victory for the Roman gladiators.  After the draw with Genoa and the elimination from the Italian Cup, Roma failed to redeem themselves at the Mapei Stadium ending with a draw against Sassuolo.

Torino was defeated by Venezia at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium.   This is an added boost for the morale of Venezia conquering the Olimpico for the full 3 points.  Torino almost got a draw in the 90th minute with the goal by Andrea Belotti but after consulting the VAR, Referee Antonio Giua ruled out for offside.   Venezia with a sprint race for salvation.

Hellas Verona convincingly win crushing Udinese at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium.  Verona not giving a chance for Udinese to react and got a poker claiming all 3 points reaching 36 points.   Fabio Depaoli scored his first goal with Verona and among the professionals, Antonín Barák – who thus reaches 9 goals in the league like Mascetti and Briegel – Gianluca Caprari and Adrien Tameze.

Spezia failed to win the home game defeated by Fiorentina at the Alberto Picco Stadium.   Fiorentina are unbeaten against Spezia in Serie A, thanks to a draw followed by two 3-0 wins; however, the tie between the two teams came in the only match played at home by the Ligurians (2-2 in October 2020).

Cagliari, 18th position with 20 points and a negative goal difference of -21
Empoli, 11th position with 30 points and a negative goal difference of -10

Cagliari with a waking call managed to end with a draw the Serie A Week 25 game against Empoli on Sunday 13 February 2022 at the Carlo Castellani Stadium in Empoli, Italy.  Empoli failed to win the game conceding the equalizer goal for Cagliari in the 84th minute.

A highlight of the match Referee Dionisi was unable to finish the game.  In the 15th minute, Dionisi is forced to leave the field due to a muscle injury, in his place the fourth official Valerio Marini takes his place as referee.

Empoli opened the score in the 38th minute. Andrea Pinamonti defeated Cagliari goalkeeper Cragno with a left-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Nedim Bajrami.

Cagliari equalized in the 84th minute. It is Leonardo Pavoletti to defeat Empoli goalkeeper Vicario from very close range with a right-footed shot to the high center.

✅ Stats before the game. Empoli won the last league match played against Cagliari (2-0 in September), in Serie A they have never achieved two consecutive victories against the Sardinians. Empoli and Cagliari have never drawn at the Tuscans’ home in Serie A, with six home wins and one away success: among the opponents against whom the Tuscans have played at least three home games, the Sardinian is the team with which they have obtained the highest home win rate in the top flight (86%). After the two consecutive wins against Udinese and Napoli won in December, Empoli have failed to win in their last seven league games (4N, 3P) and have done no worse in Serie A since February 2019, when they reached eight. Empoli have lost all of their last three Serie A home games and have never made it to four straight home losses in the top flight – these three defeats came after an unbeaten run of three home games (2W, 1D).
