Here are the match officials and fixtures for the Serie A Week 38 / Thirty-eighth Round on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August 2020 as designated by the Italian Referee Association (AIA).

Serie A tickets

The Italian Referee Association (AIA) has designated Referee Piero Giacomelli from the section of Trieste to direct the Serie A Week 38 game Atalanta vs Inter on Saturday 1 August 2020 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy at 20:45.

Referee Giacomelli will be assisted by Giorgio Peretti from the section of Verona and Daniele Bindoni from the section of Venezia.   The fourth official will be Daniele Doveri from the section of Roma 1.   The VAR will be Luigi Nasca from the section of Bari and the AVAR will be Luca Mondin from the section of Treviso.

Iachini confirmed as Fiorentina coach for 2020/21 season

ACF Fiorentina can confirm that Beppe Iachini will stay on as Fiorentina coach for the 2020/21 season.
“Beppe Iachini came in at a very difficult time for the team and has managed – despite all the issues that this incredible year has entailed – to bring the club together and move us up the table,” said Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso.

“As such, I believe that the coach deserves a chance to be kept on and be able to work with the team from the start of the season. Over the past few months, I’ve been impressed by his professionalism, hard work and ability and I think it is right that we recognise the good work he and his staff have done.

“We’ll be right beside him next season and I want to wish him the best of luck for the new campaign. Right now, though, we need to focus on the last game of the season and try to improve our league position further.”
Beppe Iachini also shared his reaction to the news.
“I’m absolutely delighted,” he began. “Fiorentina is special to me – the club has always been in my heart. I want to thank the whole club, starting with Rocco Commisso, as well as Joe Barone and Daniele Prade, for the amazing support they’ve shown me and for the faith they’re placing in me in the light of the good work we’ve done together.
“I also want to thank this fantastic group of players for the willingness and professionalism they’ve shown to me and the entire coaching staff over the past few months. My hope is that – through hard work – we can give ourselves and the fans something to celebrate.”

Iachini delighted with big Bologna win

Beppe Iachini was full of praise for his Fiorentina team after they swept Bologna aside with a 4-0 win at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Wednesday evening.

“I’m pleased with the way the team went about the game – we showed the right attitude,” said Iachini, speaking in his post-match press conference. “This is the Apennines Derby so I’d asked the lads for a big performance. I wanted organisation and focus and the lads did very well – their response was good. It was an excellent performance. We need to keep doing our best until the end of the season.”

Federico Chiesa took most of the plaudits following a stunning hat-trick, with Iachini sharing his satisfaction with the forward’s performance since he took over.
“I’m particularly happy for Federico because when I joined I told him he should be getting to double figures this season – and really he should have got there a few weeks ago!” he said. “He’s had some chances that he’s not been able to take. He’s done that tonight and it’s a record goal haul for him, so I’m pleased for him. He needs to keep it up. He’s a great lad, a great professional and a great player.”
Iachini was keen to talk up the contribution of the squad as a whole, however, as a unique season draws to a close.
“The whole team deserves praise for what we’ve achieved together,” he said. “There’s been plenty to deal with this season and we have the youngest team in the league – let’s not forget that. It’s certainly not been easy but we’ve done well. We have the best defensive record since the restart and we’ve continually improved on our stats. We need to keep progressing until the final game of the season.”
