INSTAGRAM, ANTONIO NOCERINO FAREWELL: “THANK YOU SO MUCH”

MILAN – Antonio Nocerino would like to say goodbye to ACMilan with a picture and a beautiful post on his istagram profile:

“Dear Milan, it has been love at first sight with you. I remember the day I arrived as it were today, I lived wonderful moments with you, great experiences. I knew special people I will always take in my heart, starting from Milanello staff to the persons who work at the club. I was honoured to wear a glorious and unique shirt that when I was wearing it, I felt as being in an armour, invincible.”

“I had never thought of being so fortunate in my football career. I would like to thank the club, first of all president Berlusconi and his family, for this opportunity they gave me, as long as Adriano Galliani and all the staff. I also would like to thank coach Allegri who wanted me at Milan and was so confident in me, helping my growth as a player and man. I thank Tassotti and all the stars I could meet in my first season at Milan and who taught me what the club was. And last but not least, the supporters: my special thanks to all of them who always respected and applauded me, even though I was not a prodigy. They created a song for me which is the most meaningful in the world, I will always take them in my heart. I would like to post this picture because it expresses the best I felt in this shirt: to score against Barcelona, in front of my father, this was the best for me. Thank you so much. All the best, Noce.”

AC MILAN: FULL MARKS FOR SILVIO BERLUSCONI

On Saturday Milan will live a very special day for their history. President Silvio Berlusconi spoke about his thirty years at the club.

MILAN – History and future. President Berlusconi gave an interview to Gazzetta dello Sport:

– Mr. President, how would you rate your thirty years at Milan?

“We started aiming at 10. As it went, I would say full marks. We had thirty wonderful years. We won more than rest. We conquered 363 million supporters. And most of all, our love for Milan has been rewarded and our hearts have been filled with satisfaction.”

– The best day ever

“There were a lot. Unforgettable was the first Champions league triumph in Barcelona, when we defeated Steaua Bucarest 4-0. I remember the show at Camp Nou full of red-and-black flags. There were traffic jams of supporters cars and buses on the highway to Spain. It was the win of the Rossoneri people, not only of the team.”

– Coaches and players

“Sacchi reminds me of my first wonderful years. But I’m close friend of Ancelotti and Capello as well. I would like to see all our stars again. From Van Basten, who quit football to early, to our captain  Baresi; from Savicevic to Ronaldinho, from Maldini to Costacurta, and Tassotti, Donadoni, Massaro. From Weah to Gullit, and Sheva, Kakà… I cannot mention them all. I’m proud to say that my Milan is the only team in football history to have had three players in the Ballon d’Or top three for two years, in 1988 and 1989.”

– The new signings

“We have demonstrated that we are able to build good teams. Of course, you need to invest a lot of money. We spent more than 1,2 billion euro for mIlan in these thirty years. Boateng and Balotelli failure? And why? Boateng has returned with a great desire to play and he has done well so far. Balotelli is recovering from a serious injury. If he manages to avoid the mistakes he did in the past, he could be a resource. I think it’s worth to try.”

– The aim

“On Saturday, when we celebrate the anniversary, I would like to have lunch with the team at Milanello. I’ll seize the time to ask Mihajlovic to win all games to the end. I was busy on many fronts, but now I’m back to the pitch. We are not working only for the present, we are building up a team for a new course with promising youngsters and a lot of talents. I’m confident we will manage. In these years we have won eight Champions League finals. We will reach ten successes within five years.”

– The future

“Mister Bee? I’ve close to my heart the good of Milan. Many investors have stepped into modern football and so it is difficult to remain competitive at top level. That’s why we believed that we needed new energy and assets. On this basis we have a negotiation in progress. We are waiting for a conclusion soon. But it not true that Marina presses to sell. Lifetime president? We’ll see how the next thirty years go, than we decide…”

AC MILAN 30 YEARS OF HISTORY, 16 February

On 16th February 1986 Milan played their last game before Silvio Berlusconi took over the club.

MILAN – Today, 30 years ago, Milan was still not owen by Silvio Berlusconi but it was in the process of becoming so. Four days later the documents were signed and the club was handed over to the president.

But exactly 30 years ago, on February 16th 1986, Milan played their last game before Silvio Berlusconi took over. It was Como-Milan 1-1 in the very stadium that two years later Milan celebrated their 11th scudetto, the first with Berlusconi at the helm. Back then it was round 21 and the goals were scored by Stefano Borgonovo for the home side and by Andrea Icardi for the rossoneri.

Paolo Berlsuconi was in the stands for that match, in the presence of Rosario Lo Verde and Gianni Nardi, who went on to become the president and vice president of the club.

AC MILAN, THIRTY YEARS WITH SILVIO BERLUSCONI: “WE ARE BUILDING OUR FUTURE”

MILAN – This is what president Silvio Berlusconi had to say to Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of the anniversary of his thirty years at Milan on February 20th:

“You cannot always win. I joined Milan in one of the worst period of their history. They had played in Serie B  in two of the five previous years, while they ended 14th, 6th and 5th in the Serie A standings in the other three ones. Today the fact that Milan are 6th placed is a news. This sounds strange to the supporters since we ended twenty times in the top three. All over the world the name Milan is synonym of big successes and we count on 363 million supporters. The Champions League? It may be not so far away as people think. I was busy on many fronts for complicated and also painful issues. But now I’m back to the pitch. We are not working only for the present, we are building up a team for a new course with promising youngsters and a lot of talents.”
