AC MILAN, THIRTY YEARS WITH SILVIO BERLUSCONI: “WE ARE BUILDING OUR FUTURE”

MILAN – This is what president Silvio Berlusconi had to say to Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of the anniversary of his thirty years at Milan on February 20th:

“You cannot always win. I joined Milan in one of the worst period of their history. They had played in Serie B  in two of the five previous years, while they ended 14th, 6th and 5th in the Serie A standings in the other three ones. Today the fact that Milan are 6th placed is a news. This sounds strange to the supporters since we ended twenty times in the top three. All over the world the name Milan is synonym of big successes and we count on 363 million supporters. The Champions League? It may be not so far away as people think. I was busy on many fronts for complicated and also painful issues. But now I’m back to the pitch. We are not working only for the present, we are building up a team for a new course with promising youngsters and a lot of talents.”
