Here are the declarations of Inter Coach Simone Inzaghi after the 177th Derby d’Italia ended with a controversial penalty given to Juventus and converted in the 89th minute by Paulo Dybala.  The penalty gave Juventus the equalizer point ending the Serie A Week 29 with a 1-1 draw on Sunday 24 October 2021 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Italy.

On the goal scored by Juventus, Inzaghi commented,  “That was the only way we could’ve conceded a goal. We’re disappointed because we managed the game well from start to finish without giving anything away to Juventus. We’ve dropped two points and I’m not pleased about it. The referee was a couple of yards away, said everything was fine and was then called back.  It’s disappointing for our fans who got behind us for 95 minutes and it’s disappointing for the players who controlled the game against a top side.

Inghi adding, “We were never under the cosh. We managed the match well from start to finish.  We can build on the performance because we did very well. In the first half, we pressed all over the pitch. We worked hard and knew that Juventus could bring on some dangerous players.  We were more compact and played deeper in the second half, but we really gave away no chances to a very good side that can hurt you on the break.   It’s disappointing to concede a penalty with a man advantage a few minutes before the end without giving anything else away. Seeing the referee signal that everything was fine made me angry. The red card is fair. I made a mistake, just as the referee made a mistake by signalling that everything was fine.”
