The big Derby d’Italia seeing Inter with a +3 points advantage over Juventus.  Inter failing to win the Serie A Week 9 game against Juventus ending with a controversial late draw on Sunday 24 October 2021 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Italy.  This is the 177th match between the two teams in the Serie A.  Italy Head Coach Roberto Mancini attending the game to observe players.  The draw kept Inter in the 3rd position with 18 points while Juventus climbed from the 7th to the 6th position. Inter are -7 points below Napoli and AC Milan with 25 points each in the leadership. The match ended with Inter Coach Simone Inzaghi being sent off for protest.

  Inter are the team that Juventus have beaten several times in Serie A, on 85 occasions, with 44 draws and 47 Nerazzurri successes to complete the balance. Inter have won their last home game against Juventus and have not had two consecutive home wins against the Bianconeri in competition since 2010, when José Mourinho was on the Nerazzurri bench. Inter have not lost two consecutive Serie A games since March 2020: curiously on that occasion the two KOs were against Lazio and Juventus. Juventus have won the last four league games and in this mini-partial have recovered five points over Inter: the Bianconeri have not collected at least five consecutive Serie A successes since July 2020 (strip of seven with Maurizio Sarri on the bench).  Inter have scored 78 goals (in 32 games) in the calendar year 2021 in Serie A: in the top five European championships only Bayern Munich has done better (89 in 29 games); Juventus is 64 in 33 matches.

Hakan Calhanoglu started the action, then, the ball deflected by Manuel Locatelli and touching the crossbar. Dzeko was there for the final push to the net!
