Result Hellas Verona vs Bologna, Thursday 15 January 2026, Recovered Serie A Week 16

Bologna triumphed in the Recovered Serie A Week 16 match against Hellas Verona on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Marc'Antonio Bentegodi Stadium. Riccardo Orsolini, Jens Odgaard, and Santiago Castro all scored in response to Gift Orban's early goal. Bologna is back to winning form, accumulating 30 points and sitting in 8th place. Meanwhile, Hellas Verona remains at the bottom alongside Pisa, each with only 13 points.

In the 13th minute, Hellas Verona quickly took the lead. Antoine Bernede initiated a counter-attack from his own half, skillfully evading three defenders. He then passed to Gift Orban, who struck a powerful right-footed shot from outside the box, beating goalkeeper Federico Ravaglia.

Bologna equalized in the 21st minute. A free-kick was awarded on the left side of the area for the Rossoblù, where Remo Freuler set up Riccardo Orsolini, who fired a left-footed shot that found the top corner.

In the 29th minute, Bologna took a 1-2 lead. Dominguez received a long pass from Miranda and assisted Jens Odgaard in the area, who finished with his left foot from the edge of the box, finding the bottom corner.

Bologna scored their third goal in the 44th minute. Although Freuler's long pass was intercepted by Nelsson, Pobega managed to control the rebound and headed the ball to Santiago Castro, who volleyed it in with his right foot. The ball first struck the crossbar before finding the net.

In the 72nd minute, Verona closed the gap. Montipò retrieved the ball after a Bologna corner and quickly sent a pass to Giovane, who then played a through ball to Gift Orban. Orban delivered a cross into the center, which was deflected by Remo Freuler and found its way into the net.

Verona's upcoming match is scheduled for Monday, January 19th at 18:30, where the Gialloblù will take on Cremonese at the 'Giovanni Zini' stadium in Cremona, in a game that counts for the 21st round of Serie A.

 Stats BEFORE the game

Bologna have won two of their last three matches against Hellas Verona in the league (1 draw), as many wins as in their previous nine games against the Veronese side in Serie A (2 wins, 5 draws, 2 losses). After their 2-1 victory in the most recent encounter on March 9, 2025, the Rossoblù could win two consecutive matches against the Venetians in the top flight for the first time since the 2017/18 season.

Bologna (three draws and four defeats) have not won in their last seven Serie A matches – a run not seen since April-May 2021; the Emilian side haven't gone eight consecutive games without a win in the competition since December 2020-January 2021 (5 draws, 3 losses).

Hellas Verona have remained unbeaten in five of their last six home matches against Bologna in the league (2 wins, 3 draws), although they lost the most recent game at the Bentegodi (1-2 on March 9); Bologna have only won two consecutive away matches against Hellas Verona in Serie A once: between November 2015 and November 2017.

Hellas Verona have conceded goals in all of their last eight league matches and haven't had a worse run since a series of 15 between September and December 2024; furthermore, the Gialloblù have failed to score in three of their last four matches: as many times as in the previous 10.
