The Giallorossi celebrated a decisive win, marking their first triumph in the championship. The match at the Olimpico concluded with a score of 3-0, as fans passionately chanted for Daniele De Rossi while expressing their discontent towards Pellegrini and Cristante during their substitutions. After a week that can only be described as intense, the team handled the Udinese challenge with relative ease.

Ivan Juric's team has claimed their first three points, totaling six and elevating them to ninth place in the standings. In the next match, the Giallorossi will go up against Venezia at the Olimpico, and the Thursday prior, they will participate in the first round of the Europa League against Atletico Bilbao.

Roma takes the lead in the 19th minute with a powerful diagonal shot by Dovbyk assisted by El Shaarawy. Runjaic's team fails to react, constantly put under pressure by Juric's men. In the second half Dovbyk is once again the protagonist: he steals the ball from a defender and serves Dybala, who enters the area and is brought down by Bijol. Clear penalty, which the Argentine converts: 2-0 in the 49th minute.

A timid reaction for Udinese, who however only worries Svilar with a powerful left-footed shot from Thauvin, which the Giallorossi goalkeeper deflects into a corner. In the 70th minute comes the goal that brings the curtain down on the match: Baldanzi, who has just come on, talks to Dovbyk (him again) and scores the 3-0. There is also time for another goal from an unstoppable Dovbyk, disallowed for offside.

A poor performance for Udinese, who has never managed to contain their opponents and create dangerous situations. The Friulians are now in third place in the standings (Napoli second in goal difference) with ten points and, after the Coppa Italia interlude (the second round is played on Wednesday against Salernitana), the next round Runjaic's team will host Inter at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine.

Stats before the game Roma have won 18 of their last 22 games against Udinese in Serie A (1D, 3L) – in the period (since the 2013/14 season), the Bianconeri have been the team against which the Giallorossi have won the most games (18) and collected the most clean sheets (11).

Roma have scored 182 goals in their 100 previous games against Udinese in Serie A: an average of 1.82 goals per game, the highest for the Giallorossi against one of the opponents faced more than 60 times in the top flight.

Roma are yet to win any games in Serie A this season (D3 L1) and could remain without a win in their first five games of the season in the top flight for only the third time in their history, after 1984/85 (D4 L1 under Sven-Göran Eriksson) and 1974/75 (D2 L3 under Nils Liedholm).

Udinese have started a Serie A round sitting alone at the top of the table for the first time since the eighth game of the 2011/12 season, when they lost to Napoli and were overtaken by Juventus at the end of the day. With 10 points in the league this season, Udinese have equalled their best start ever in the first four games of a Serie A season: three wins and a draw also in 2000/01, with Luigi De Canio on the bench – in that season the Bianconeri also won on matchday five (2-0 at home to Lecce).

Kosta Runjaic (3W, 1D) is only the third coach in Udinese's history to remain unbeaten in each of his first four games in charge of the Bianconeri in Serie A, after Giovanni Galeone (3W, 1D) in 2005/06 and Enzo Ferrari (2W, 2D) in 1980/81. Furthermore, the German coach has equalled Galeone himself as the best start ever for a coach on the bench of the Friulians in the top division after four benches in terms of points won (considering the three points for a win always): 10.

Only Milan (133) and Napoli (128) have more touches inside the opponent's area than Roma (115) in this Serie A. Udinese is the team against which Paulo Dybala has been involved in the most goals in Serie A: 20 in 20 games (11 goals + 9 assists), at least eight more than against any other opponent.
