Belgium triumphed over New Zealand with an impressive score of 5-1 in their final Group G match for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The convincing game took place on Friday, June 26, 2026, in Vancouver. This remarkable victory allowed Belgium to claim the top position in Group G and move on to the knockout stage, while New Zealand was unfortunately eliminated from the tournament.

Belgium will advance to the round of 32, where they will compete against the third-place team from another group. New Zealand, on the other hand, finished at the bottom of Group G and will exit the tournament.

Belgium's goals came from Leandro Trossard (2), Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, and Alexis Saelemaekers. New Zealand's lone goal was scored by Elija Just.

It's wonderful to see Serie A players making an impact for Belgium. Napoli midfielder Kevin De Bruyne found the net, followed by Napoli forward Romelu Lukaku, also known as "Big Rom," who scored as well. To top off this fantastic victory, AC Milan forward Alexis Saelemaekers also contributed a goal! What a superb match!

In the 84th minute, Elijah Just scores. A corner from New Zealand is cleared by the Belgian defense, and the ball lands at the edge of the box where Just strikes it first time, getting it past Courtois.

In the 86th minute, Romelu Lukaku scored. Saelemaekers made a pass to Raskin on the right, who then crossed the ball to Napoli's striker Lukaku. The forward's header found the net, allowing Belgium to reclaim the top spot in the standings based on goal difference.
