Belgium and Egypt  ended in a 1-1 draw in the Group G match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Monday, June 15, 2026  at Seattle Stadium (Lumen Field) in Seattle, Washington. This exciting opening-week encounter  showcase stars such as Napoli's Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah. Group G also includes Iran and New Zealand. It was an exciting game filled with moments of brilliance. In the first half, the Egyptian national team performed better, taking the lead with a well-deserved goal from Ashour. However, in the second half, Rudi Garcia's tactical adjustments revitalized Belgium, allowing them to respond effectively. Napoli midfielder Kevin De Bruyne hit the outside of the post with a free kick, and shortly after, Napoli forward Romelu Lukaku, who came on in the 66th minute, set up an own goal by Hany just seconds later, leveling the score for his team. ⚽️    In the 20th minute, Emam Ashour netted his inaugural international goal for Egypt in the match against Belgium. He got an angled pass from Mohamed Salah at the edge of the box, made a cut inside, and unleashed a strong right-footed shot that went past goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

⚽️ In the 66th minute, Belgium managed to equalize thanks to an own goal by Egyptian defender Mohamed Hany. This event unfolded just 23 seconds after Napoli's Romelu Lukaku entered the match, causing a deflection that caught the goalkeeper off guard.
