Torino celebrating their first victory of the season. Torino win the Serie A Week 3 game against Salernitana on Sunday 12 September 2021 at the Olimpico Torino Stadium in Turin, Italy.  It’s a major blow for Salernitana remaining without points and a sour debut of Frank Ribery coming as a sub in the 67th minute.

  • Stats before the game.  Torino won both matches against Salernitana in Serie A, in the 1947/48 season, with an overall score of 11-2. The Campania team is in fact the one against which the Piedmontese have scored the most on average (5.5) in their history in Serie A. Juventus have failed to win their opening two Serie A matches for only the third time in the last 52 years. Luciano Spalletti and Massimiliano Allegri meet for the first time since the 1-1 draw between Inter (Spalletti) and Juve in April 2019.

Morata scoring his second fastest goal in Serie A after the start of the game in the 10th minute, his quickest was scored back in January 2016 against Chievo Verona in the 6th minute.

Empoli  failing to win the Serie A Week 3 game defeated by Venezia on Saturday 11 September 2021 at the Carlo Castellani Stadium in Empoli, Italy.  Empoli just crumbled after defeating Juventus on Week 2 at the Allianz Stadium reaching 3 points while Juventus remained with just 1 point.  Venezia winning their first game this season collecting all 3 points in this away victory.

  • Stats, Empoli and Venezia faced each other only in the 1998/99 season in Serie A: in that season Venezia winning with a 3-2 at Penzo and a draw 2-2 at the Castellani Stadium.  For Empoli, in case of a victory, would equal their best starts in a Serie A championship: the Tuscans achieved two victories in their first three games in 1986/87 and 2002/03, both seasons in which they achieved salvation. Empoli have lost their first home game this season against Lazio, and have never started a Serie A season with two defeats in their first two home games.   The real test is for Venezia to collect at least 1 point or they could remain without points in the first three games played in a Serie A season for the third time: in 1949/50 and in 2001/02 the first two – in both previous cases they scored a goal. Venezia’s last Serie A victory came against a Tuscan team: 2-0 against Fiorentina in 2002, with Giuseppe Iachini at the helm.
