Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Inter, 3rd position with 59 points and a positive goal difference of +38
Fiorentina, 8th position with 46 points and a positive goal difference of +10

Inter succumbed to the pressure failing to win the Serie A Week 30 game against Fiorentina on Saturday 19 March 2022 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Italy.  The mission was to win and instead this draw slows down the race for the Scudetto while Napoli defeated Udinese reaching 63 points. A point each between Inter and Fiorentina. The second consecutive draw for the Nerazzurri. Fiorentina shortens the distance from Rome, Atalanta (who played one game less) and Lazio, moving to -1 from the Giallorossi and Orobics, and to -2 from Lazio.

Inter have now scored 33 points in 15 home games in this league so far, more than any other team; on five of the last seven occasions in which the Nerazzurri have maintained this performance in the first 14 Serie A home games they have then won the Scudetto (with the exception of second place in 2010/11 and seventh in 2016/17).

Fiorentina opened the score in the 50th minute. It is Lucas Torreira to defeat Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic with a right-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Nicolás González.

Inter equalized for the 1-1 in the 53rd minute. It is Denzel Dumfries to defeat Fiorentina goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano with a headed shot to the center. The assist is by Ivan Perisic.

Stats before the game.  Inter are the team against which Fiorentina have scored the most goals in Serie A (214) – the Viola have scored 44 wins, 54 draws and suffered 69 defeats in 167 games against the Nerazzurri in the top tournament.  From 2001 onwards, Inter have won 16 home games out of 19 in Serie A against Fiorentina (1D, 2L) at least three more than against any other team.  After a series of eight straight league victories, Inter have only achieved two wins in their last eight Serie A games (4D, 2L); counting only the second period, from mid-January onwards, Inter would find themselves in ninth position in the standings, with 10 points, four less than Fiorentina, opponents of the day.  On all 11 occasions in which Fiorentina have earned at least 46 points in their first 28 Serie A games in the era of three points to win, they have then finished the championship in the top six.

👉 Lineup INTER (3-5-2): 1 Handanovic; 33 D’Ambrosio, 37 Skriniar, 95 Bastoni; 2 Dumfries, 23 Barella, 20 Calhanoglu, 22 Vidal, 14 Perisic; 9 Dzeko, 10 Lautaro.
