Following the outbreak of war in Ukraine, both the league itself and the twenty Serie A clubs within it have acted to help the Ukrainian people. Starting from the Serie A Week 31 of the Serie A 2021/2022, all the captains will be wearing the armband with the words “Peace”. The children are also back on the field, thanks to the new protocols of the FIGC

AC Milan closer to claim the Scudetto after defeating Atalanta with a 2-0 at the San Siro Stadium=.  AC Milan could finish a Serie A season with more than 80 points for the first time since 2010-11, when they last won the league title.  Milan pass the Atalanta test, climb to 83 points and are only one point from the Scudetto, even less if Inter does not win in Cagliari.  A tough defeat for Atalanta remaining in the eighth position at 59 and risk losing the European zone next season.  In the next and last round, AC Milan will be hosted by Sassuolo, while Atalanta will close at home against Empoli.

Napoli playing the last home game crushing Genoa at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.  Napoli Captain Lorenzo Insigne playing his last game at the Maradona before transferring to his new Club Toronto in the Major League Soccer.  Good news for Napoli is that they already qualified for the Champions League next season.  A ray of hope, despite today’s defeat, Genoa still has a remote chance for salvation: in case of arrival at 31 points with Salernitana and Cagliari, Genoa will be safe thanks to the detached classification. To make this happen to Blessin’s men, first of all, victory over Bologna in the last league game, in addition to two draws for Cagliari, committed against Inter and Venice, and the defeat of Salernitana against Udinese. Any result other than these will condemn Genoa to relegation to Serie B.

Empoli and Salernitana ended the game with a 1-1 draw.  In Salerno, they are hoping for the Nerazzurri’s remaining scudetto hopes.  Empoli remain in 14th place at 38 points.   An exciting draw at Castellani, with Salernitana who manage to equalize the disadvantage of the first half, after numerous miracles by goalkeeper Vicario and, in the final phase of the match, they waste the ball of victory with Diego Perotti, who gets a penalty kick saved.  In the next and last round,  Empoli will travel to Bergamo to face Atalanta, while Salernitana will host Udinese on their pitch.

Udinese lost their last home game at the Dacia Arena. Spezia at 36 points and save to remain in Serie A next season with one game early. Simply put, Spezia with this important away victory claimed all three points and the mathematical salvation. Advantage of the hosts with Molina, but Verde and Gyasi overturn the result in the first half. In the start of recovery closes the games Maggiore. In the final, first a missed penalty for the guests from Manaj, then the goal from Pablo Marì, but the match ended 2-3. In the next round, Spezia will host Napoli could be a party. Udinese remains at 44 points and on the last day will visit Salernitana.

Hellas Verona and Torino are saved to remain in Serie A next season.  Torino caused an upset and win the Serie A Week 37 game defeating Verona at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium.    In the next round of the championship, the last one, Verona will travel to Rome to face Lazio, while Torino will host AS Roma.

Bologna and Sassuolo are safe to remain in Serie A next season.  Bologna failed to win the Serie A Week 37 game at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium.     The Emilian derby without particular meanings in the standings.    Sassuolo deservedly won the derby and climbed to 50 points: a brace from Scamacca and a pearl overhead from Berardi.  Bologna cannot complain about the VAR: goal canceled in Chiriches, the goal of the flag is a penalty by Orsolini in full recovery.

Juventus ended the last home game with a draw against Lazio at the Allianz Stadium. The game was full of emotions because it was the goodbye of a great icon, defender Giorgio Chiellini. Another goodbye was Argentinean forward Paulo Dybala saluting his fans in tears. Juventus played without pressure because they had already secured a post for the Champions League next season. The pressure was for Lazio because they needed a win or draw to secure a post for the Europa League next season. Lazio grabbed the agonizing draw in the 96th minute with the goal by Milinkovic-Savic. Mathematically speaking, Lazio secured the 5th position reaching 63 points followed by Roma with 60 points, and cannot be caught by Fiorentina in seventh place with 59 points.  In the last round, Lazio will face Hellas Verona at the Olimpico Stadium and Juventus will face Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.

Napoli, 3rd position with 73 points and a positive goal difference of +37

Napoli playing the last home game and win the Serie A Week 37 game against Genoa on Sunday 15 May 2022 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Napoli, Italy.

After the 1-0 of the first fraction, Napoli spreads with the goals of Insigne, on a penalty returned after being signaled by the VAR, and Lobotka. Genoa has time to waste another golden opportunity with Portanova, as in the first half, then literally leaves the field and is overwhelmed by Spalletti’s men. In the final applause and emotion for Lorenzo Insigne’s farewell to his audience.

Napoli opened the score in the 32nd minute. Forward Victor Osimhen defeated Genoa goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu with a headed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Giovanni Di Lorenzo.

Way to say goodbye! Napoli Captain Lorenzo Insigne salutes his fans converting a penalty for the 2-0 in the 65th minute.  Insigne has scored 9 goals from the penalty spot in the current Serie A, more than any other player in the Big-5 European Leagues 2021/22.

Napoli crushed Genoa with a 3-0 in the 81st minute. Stanislav Lobotka scored with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by André-Frank Zambo Anguissa.

✅ Stats before the game. Napoli have won 16 of their 24 Serie A games against Genoa since January 2010 onwards (D6 L2), only against Sampdoria (19) have they won more during that time.  Napoli are unbeaten in their last 12 Serie A home games against Genoa (W8 D4), keeping a clean sheet in four of the last five.  Genoa have gone unbeaten in two of their last three Serie A meetings against Napoli played in the second half of the season – winning 2-1 in February 2021 and a 1-1 draw April 2019 – as many as they had in the previous eight.  Napoli have scored 19 goals in their last eight league matches, an average of 2.4 per game, while they kept a clean sheet the last time out, after failing to do so in each of their previous 11 such matches.  After drawing each of their first seven Serie A games under Alexander Blessin, Genoa are without a draw in their last seven (W3 D4). Indeed, after winning against Juventus the last time out, they could win two league games in a row for the first time since February 2021, a run of three that included a victory over Napoli.
