Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Napoli, 3rd position with 76 points and a positive goal difference of +40
Spezia, 16th position with 36 points and a negative goal difference of -27

Spezia saved to remain in Serie A. Napoli already secured their post in Champions League next season. Napoli win the Serie A Week 38 game against Spezia on Sunday 22 May 2022 at the Alberto Picco Stadium in Spezia, Italy. Napoli kept a clean sheet in both of their last two league games, and have not done so in three in a row since last October (four). A chaotic moment with the game being interrupted about 10 minutes due to some disturbances between fans in the stands in the first half. Napoli ends the season in the 3rd position with 79 points in the standings. Napoli did not do better than the 91 of the 2017/18 season. Spezia will play his third consecutive season in the Italian top league.

The emotional moment for the final goodbye of Lorenzo Insigne (with the captain’s armband previously worn by Ghoulam), on the pitch in the last 25 minutes in which Spalletti also made the young goalkeeper Marfella debut.

Stats before the game. Spezia have lost 60% of their Serie A matches against teams in the top three in the table (6/10), winning three (including a 1-0 win against Napoli in the reverse fixture) and drawing the other. After a 3-2 win over Udinese in the last round, Spezia could pick up two wins in a row for the second time in Serie A this season, having previously won three in a row in January against Genoa, Milan and Sampdoria. Spezia have lost each of their last three home games in Serie A, and have never recorded four such defeats in a row in the competition.
