Roma won the Serie A Week 35 on Sunday, May 4, 2024, at the Olimpico Stadium. Mission accomplished, Roma has secured 63 points, climbing to fourth place as they await the outcome of Bologna-Juventus. Roma surged ahead just before halftime in the 45+5′ minute. Artem Dovbyk scored with a header into the bottom left corner after a corner kick given away by goalkeeper David de Gea. The assist came from Eldor Shomurodov, who provided a headed pass.

Fiorentina has faced Roma more times in Serie A than any other team, resulting in 62 draws out of 171 matches, alongside 58 wins for Roma and 51 for Fiorentina. Interestingly, Roma has had more draws against Fiorentina than any other team in the league, matching their total with Lazio at 62.

Following their impressive 5-1 victory in the first leg on October 27, Fiorentina has a chance to defeat Roma in both Serie A matches this season, something they haven’t done in 60 years since the 2011/12 season.

Fiorentina has gone four league matches without a loss against Roma, with two wins and two draws; they haven’t achieved five or more consecutive matches unbeaten against the Giallorossi in Serie A since the stretch from 1975 to 1979, when they managed nine.

Roma has suffered just three defeats in their last 50 home matches (W31 D16) against Fiorentina in Serie A. The last time the Viola triumphed away against the Giallorossi in the league was on April 7, 2018, with a score of 2-0, thanks to goals from Marco Benassi and Giovanni Simeone. Since that match, the capital team has secured four victories and two draws.

Monza lost the Serie A Week 35 match against Atalanta on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the U-Power Stadium in Monza, Italy. Atalanta went ahead in the 12th minute when Charles De Ketelaere found the bottom left corner with a left-footed shot. Retegui moved to the right and delivered a pass to Bega, who skillfully maneuvered past Pedro Pereira before scoring with a left-footed shot at the near post.

Another goal scored in the 23rd minute! De Ketelaere nets his second, bringing his championship total to seven! A miscommunication between Castrovilli and Pedro Pereira leaves the ball loose, and De Ketelaere swiftly capitalizes, beating Pizzignacco.

Monza is really struggling! In the 47th minute, Ademola Lookman found the net with a left-footed shot into the bottom left corner, assisted by Mateo Retegui’s header. Lookman has now scored 14 goals in the league. Retegui’s header set up Lookman, who sprinted past Lekovic, who had just entered the game and was still warming up, and managed to beat Pizzignacco at the near post with his left foot.


Atalanta clinched the win in the 89th minute when Marco Brescianini found the net with a right-footed shot to the top right corner, assisted by Mario Pasalic.

Empoli lost the Serie A Week 35 on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the Carlo Castellani Stadium. Boulaye Dia, clearly the standout player, secures three crucial points for Lazio, who momentarily rises to 4th in the league, surpassing Roma, Bologna, and Juventus all at once. Meanwhile, Empoli extends their winless streak to 20 matches, remaining in second-to-last place with 25 points.

Dia makes the decisive goal within just a minute. Lazio has a goal ruled out in the 52nd minute (Viti scores but was offside initially) and struggles to challenge Mandas further. Colombo and Hysaj receive red cards, while six others are cautioned, resulting in a total of 10 cards issued.

Notably, Lazio is one of four teams in the league, alongside Atalanta, Empoli, and Hellas Verona, that has earned more points on the road than at home. The Biancocelesti have achieved two consecutive away victories and are looking to make it three in a row.  It’s a feat they haven’t accomplished since November 2022 when they won four straight away matches.

Lazio got off to a flying start with a quick goal just one minute in! Boulaye Dia found the net with a right-footed shot aimed at the center. Elseid Hysaj provided the assist with a perfectly timed through ball. Castellanos made a fantastic play that opened up the right side for Hysaj. After a cross from Hysaj, Viti misjudged his intervention, allowing Dia to sneak in behind. He controlled the ball with his chest and then finished with his right foot to make it 1-0 for the biancoceleste.

In the 38th minute, things got chaotic when Empoli’s striker Lorenzo Colombo engaged in a physical battle with Rovella during a long throw from the back. He accidentally kicked Gigot with his leg. It seems unintentional from the footage, but the referee saw it differently, issuing a yellow card followed by a red one.

Lazio is down to 10 players in the 76th minute after Elseid Hysaj is sent off. Sambia maneuvers around him and breaks free on the right wing, prompting number 23 to commit a foul that results in a second warning and a red card.

In the past 12 encounters between Empoli and Lazio in Serie A, Lazio has emerged victorious 10 times, with two matches ending in a draw. The last time Empoli triumphed over Lazio in this league was on November 29, 2015, when they won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Lorenzo Tonelli.

Lazio has triumphed in their last five Serie A games at the Castellani against Empoli, netting a total of 10 goals (averaging two per match) and achieving three clean sheets; before this, the Biancocelesti had only managed to win two out of their first nine encounters at the Tuscans’ ground (3 draws, 4 losses).

A big disappointment for Parma losing the Serie A Week 35 on Saturday 3 May 2025 at the Ennio Tardini Stadium in Parma, Italy.  Como continues to impress, achieving its fifth straight Serie A win for the first time ever. Fabregas’ squad also secures its fourth consecutive clean sheet and rises to tenth place with 45 points, surpassing Torino. Parma faced a tough loss despite a solid performance from the team, who had been on a winning streak since March 1st. Chivu’s squad still holds a six-point lead over the team in third-to-last place.

The second half of the game matches the intensity of the first, as Parma comes back onto the pitch with renewed confidence, creating several threats in Como’s territory but missing many opportunities.

In the 79th minute, the decisive goal was scored by Gabriel Strefezza, who had just come onto the field. He took the lead for Como with a left-footed shot from the center of the box into the bottom right corner, thanks to an assist from Tasos Douvikas. Douvikas received a through ball, controlled it, and then Strefezza swooped in to outsmart goalkeeper Zion Suzuki with his left foot!

In the closing moments, Parma makes every effort to equalize, but in injury time, Man shoots over the bar from close range.

In the next round, Parma will be playing in Empoli while Como will host Cagliari.
