Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Genoa, 13th position with 39 points and a negative goal difference of -11
Como, 12th position with 39 points and a negative goal difference of -5

Como won the Serie A match on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium in Como, Italy. Como secures its fourth straight victory, ensuring its place in Serie A. A goal from Strefezza, assisted by Cutrone, clinches the win in the second half. Genoa struggles to score, despite a few chances in the first half, including Ahanor hitting the post, and now relies on other results for survival. Como has accumulated 42 points, while Genoa remains at 39. Upcoming matches include Parma vs. Como and Genoa vs. Milan.

Como are riding high with three straight league victories against Monza, Torino, and Lecce. Historically, Como has only managed to secure four consecutive wins once before, back in March 1952 under coach Robert Winkler.

The game …

Como took the lead in the 59th minute when Gabriel Strefezza found the back of the net with a left-footed shot into the top left corner, assisted by Patrick Cutrone. Nico Paz set up Cutrone, who then delivered a perfect assist to Strefezza, whose accurate left-footed strike outsmarted goalkeeper Nicola Leali.

Cesc Fabregas, the Como Coach, joyfully celebrates with both the team and the fans.

Stats before the game:

Genoa has not lost in six out of their seven Serie A encounters with Como (3 wins, 3 draws), with Como’s only victory over the Grifone in this league dating back to October 1, 1950 (3-2 at Sinigaglia).

Como has a solid record at home against Genoa in Serie A, remaining unbeaten in three matches (1 win, 2 draws). Only Bologna (10) and Hellas Verona (7) have more home games without a loss among current top-flight teams.

Buy Serie A tickets

After managing only three clean sheets in their first 31 matches of this season, Como has now achieved two in their latest games; the last time they recorded three consecutive clean sheets in Serie A was from January to February 2003.

Genoa has struggled on the road in 2025, failing to secure a win in any of their eight away matches (D4 L4). Their last victory away from home was on December 28 against Empoli (2-1). In the current year, only Monza (0 points) and Empoli (3 points) have performed worse than the Grifone, who have managed just four points away from home.

Player Stats

In his last nine appearances in Serie A, Lucas da Cunha has scored two goals and provided two assists, after having contributed to just one goal in the first 22 games played in this championship (a goal in November against Genoa); only Gabriel Strefezza (32) has more appearances than the French midfielder (31) among Como players in this Serie A.

Nico Paz is the only player with at least 60 total shots (92), 60 successful dribbles (60 for him exactly) and 60 touches in the opponent’s area (82) in this Serie A season.

Morten Frendrup is both the player who has recorded the most tackles (98) and the one who has carried out the most high-intensity pressure (1411) in this Serie A season.

👉  Atalanta won the Serie A Week 33 showdown on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. Atalanta triumphed over Milan, securing their position in the Champions League zone, while Milan struggles. Ederson’s goal proved to be the turning point. Milan’s response was lackluster, managing to stay competitive until the end, thanks in part to a stellar performance from Maignan and a significant mistake by Retegui. Nevertheless, Atalanta emerged victorious and is soaring high. In the upcoming match,

Atalanta will take on Lecce, while Milan is set to play against Venezia.

This was just the second instance where Milan faces Atalanta while trailing by at least 10 points in the league standings (with Atalanta at 61 points and Milan at 51). In fact, out of the 127 previous encounters between these teams, this situation has only arisen once: on the 36th matchday of the 2019/20 season, when they were 15 points apart, leading to a 1-1 draw at the Meazza.

Atalanta gained the upper hand in the 62nd minute when Éderson found the net with a header directed to the center. Raoul Bellanova provided the assist with a well-placed header. It was a fantastic play by Atalanta, with Ademola Lookman setting up Bellanova, who expertly delivered the ball to Éderson, who skillfully outmaneuvered goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

Éderson joyfully accepts the “Player of the Match” award after netting the sole goal of the game. Atalanta secured a 1-0 win against AC Milan, bringing their total to 64 points and placing them in 3rd position.

Stats before the game

After going unbeaten in five straight matches (W4 D1), Milan has faced setbacks, losing two of their last three Serie A games (D1) against Atalanta. This could mark the first time since May 2014-January 2015 that they suffer two consecutive defeats to the Bergamo side in the top division, during the tenures of coaches Clarence Seedorf and Filippo Inzaghi.

Milan has only lost once in their last 13 home matches (W8 D4) in the latter half of the Serie A season against Atalanta, with that lone defeat occurring on March 30, 2008 (1-2). The last Rossoneri manager to experience a loss in their first match at the Meazza against the Nerazzurri during the second half of the season was Nils Liedholm in April 1978 (0-1).

Atalanta has not played on Easter in Serie A since 1978, when they lost to Inter. On the same date, Milan secured their most recent victory on Easter, winning 2-0 against Pescara. Notably, the Rossoneri and the Bergamo club have never met on this holiday in the league.

Inter slowed down their sprint race towards the Scudetto losing the Serie A Week 33 on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy. What an exciting match! Bologna secured a crucial win by halting Inter’s pursuit of Napoli. Now, both Napoli and Inter are tied at 71 points at the top of the table. With just five games remaining, the battle for the Scudetto is truly thrilling.

Bologna’s victory came thanks to Riccardo Orsolini’s stunning half-bicycle kick in the 94th minute. This win allows the Rossoblu to temporarily leapfrog Juventus into fourth place. The match was full of action and was ultimately decided during injury time in the second half. A long throw-in from Miranda on the left was inadvertently headed by Bisseck towards the far post, where Orsolini skillfully turned and struck, beating Sommer on the left side to secure a 1-0 victory.

In the upcoming matchday, Bologna will face Udinese away, while Inter will take on Roma at San Siro. The competition for both the Champions League and the Scudetto is more intense than ever.

Inter arrives at the match against Bologna filled with excitement, having successfully progressed to the quarter-finals of the Champions League by overcoming Bayern Munich. Nevertheless, Inzaghi’s team faces a tough schedule, with the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final against Milan on Wednesday, followed by a home match against Roma at San Siro, and then a journey to Barcelona to compete against the Blaugrana.

Bologna’s recent performance was disappointing, as they ended a seven-match streak of positive results by losing 2-0 to Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium in their latest league encounter. Italiano’s squad is determined to earn points in today’s match to avoid slipping away from the coveted fourth place, which secures a spot in the upcoming Champions League.

In a thrilling finish, Bologna thrilled their supporters in the 94th minute, just moments before the game concluded, leaving Inter stunned. Riccardo Orsolini found the net with a left-footed strike into the bottom left corner. The crowd erupted in celebration as Orsolini sprinted towards the fans. The play began with a long throw-in from Miranda on the left, which Bisseck directed towards the far post. Orsolini managed to evade Dimarco’s defense and executed a half-volley into the goal.

I absolutely adore this image! The Inter players are in perfect harmony… Jump? I’m curious about how high they can reach!

Stats before the game:

Inter has achieved victory in 75 out of 155 Serie A encounters with Bologna (D37 L43), with only Juventus (79) having a higher win count against the Rossoblu in this league.

Bologna hasn’t participated in a Serie A match on Easter since 1978, when they drew against Fiorentina. They have faced Inter four times on this holiday, with each team securing two wins. Despite winning five and drawing one of their last six games, Bologna recently faced a defeat in their latest Serie A match (0-2 against Atalanta). They haven’t experienced back-to-back losses in the league since January 2023, when they lost to both Roma and Atalanta.

Empoli, 19th position with 24 points and a negative goal difference of -26
Venezia, 18th position with 24 points and a negative goal difference of -29

The Serie A Week 33 clash between Empoli and Venezia ended with a draw on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the Carlo Castellani Stadium in Empoli, Italy. This match represents a critical fight for survival, with Empoli currently in 19th place and Venezia in 18th, both teams tied at 25 points.

The action unfolded in the second half, with Empoli initially taking the lead thanks to Fazzini’s goal, assisted by Henderson. However, Yeboah quickly equalized for Venezia following a corner, where Vasquez played a crucial role. In the closing moments, Busio helped Venezia complete their comeback, but just a couple of minutes later, Anjorin netted a stunning curling shot from the edge of the box to make it 2-2.

Coach Stats: This marks the fifth encounter between Roberto D’Aversa and Eusebio Di Francesco, and the record stands even with each coach having secured one victory (D’Aversa with Parma in 2018 and Di Francesco with Frosinone last season) along with two draws. Notably, Di Francesco’s teams have found the net in all four matches played.

Empoli gained the advantage in the 59th minute when Jacopo Fazzini found the net with a right-footed shot from just a few feet away, placing the ball into the bottom left corner. The setup came from Liam Henderson, who delivered a precise cross from the right side of the box. Fazzini skillfully maneuvered between two Venezia defenders to score on the fly!

Venezia leveled the score at 1-1 in the 67th minute when John Yeboah found the net with a close-range left-footed shot. The goal was set up by Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, who delivered a cross after a corner awarded due to a foul by Mattia Viti. Nicolussi Caviglia took the corner, and Vasquez’s awkward attempt to clear the ball fell short, allowing Yeboah to skillfully score on the fly!

In the 85th minute, Venezia found the back of the net. Gianluca Busio struck with a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner. Venezia completed their comeback when Yeboah set up Gytkjaer right in front of the six-yard box, but his attempt was thwarted by Vasquez. Busio seized the rebound and confidently scored, making it 2-1!

Empoli equalized in the 87th minute when Tino Anjorin found the net with a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner, assisted by Liberato Cacace. Anjorin showcased his skill by winning a challenge near the three-quarter line, making a strong run towards the goal, and finishing with a beautifully curled shot that left Radu with no chance!

Stats before the game

Among the teams that Empoli has never lost to in Serie A, Venezia is the one they have faced the most, with five encounters resulting in two wins and three draws for the Venetians. In their nine meetings across Serie A and Serie B at Empoli’s home ground, both teams have consistently found the net, totaling 35 goals, which averages out to 3.9 goals per match.

Buy Serie A tickets

Empoli has yet to play a Serie A match on Easter Sunday, while Venezia has participated in six such matches, achieving one win, one draw, and four losses (including a forfeited match on March 24, 1940, against Milan, which ended 0-0 on the field).

Empoli’s last victory in Serie A was on December 8 against Hellas Verona. Since then, they have managed only five points from five draws and suffered 12 defeats, making them the lowest-performing team in Serie A during this period, tied with Monza for points. After enduring eight draws and six losses, Venezia finally secured a 1-0 victory against Monza in their last Serie A match. The Venetians have not achieved back-to-back wins in the league since November 2021, when they defeated Roma and Bologna.
