Both Inter and Napoli are in a tight race for the Scudetto, currently sitting at 71 points each. Napoli faced a challenging match but ultimately secured a crucial victory, thanks to the reliable Scott McTominay.

Bologna triumphed over Inter with a score of 1 – 0, slowing down Inter’s chase for the Scudetto at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium. What a thrilling game! Bologna’s victory was vital in preventing Inter from catching up to Napoli. Now, both Napoli and Inter are level at 71 points at the top of the standings. Empoli and Venezia ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw. This match was vital for both teams’ hopes of staying in the league, with Empoli sitting in 19th place and Venezia just above them in 18th, both on 25 points. This was just the second instance where Milan faces Atalanta while trailing by at least 10 points in the league standings (with Atalanta at 61 points and Milan at 51). In fact, out of the 127 previous encounters between these teams, this situation has only arisen once: on the 36th matchday of the 2019/20 season, when they were 15 points apart, leading to a 1-1 draw at the Meazza.

After going unbeaten in five straight matches (W4 D1), Milan has faced setbacks, losing two of their last three Serie A games (D1) against Atalanta. This could mark the first time since May 2014-January 2015 that they suffer two consecutive defeats to the Bergamo side in the top division, during the tenures of coaches Clarence Seedorf and Filippo Inzaghi.

Empoli gained the advantage in the 59th minute when Jacopo Fazzini found the net with a right-footed shot from just a few feet away, placing the ball into the bottom left corner. The setup came from Liam Henderson, who delivered a precise cross from the right side of the box. Fazzini skillfully maneuvered between two Venezia defenders to score on the fly!


Venezia leveled the score at 1-1 in the 67th minute when John Yeboah found the net with a close-range left-footed shot. The goal was set up by Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, who delivered a cross after a corner awarded due to a foul by Mattia Viti. Nicolussi Caviglia took the corner, and Vasquez’s awkward attempt to clear the ball fell short, allowing Yeboah to skillfully score on the fly!

In the 85th minute, Venezia found the back of the net. Gianluca Busio struck with a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner. Venezia completed their comeback when Yeboah set up Gytkjaer right in front of the six-yard box, but his attempt was thwarted by Vasquez. Busio seized the rebound and confidently scored, making it 2-1!

Empoli equalized in the 87th minute when Tino Anjorin found the net with a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner, assisted by Liberato Cacace. Anjorin showcased his skill by winning a challenge near the three-quarter line, making a strong run towards the goal, and finishing with a beautifully curled shot that left Radu with no chance!
