Inter secured a 1-0 victory over Hellas Verona, setting the stage for their Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona. At San Siro, with Simone Inzaghi suspended and Farris coaching from the bench, Asllani scored an early penalty to clinch the win. This result allows the Nerazzurri to keep pace with Napoli, who triumphed earlier today against Lecce. Inter will face Barcelona again on Tuesday, May 6 at 21:00 for the crucial second leg of the Champions League semi-final. Additionally, on Sunday at 18:00, they will compete against Vanoli’s Granata at the Stadio Olimpico – Grande Torino.
Inter scored first in the 9th minute when Kristjan Asllani successfully converted a penalty with a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner. The penalty was awarded after Nicolás Valentini handled the ball in the box, allowing Asllani to outsmart Verona’s goalkeeper, Lorenzo Montipò.
