Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
AC Milan, 2nd position with 21 points and a positive goal difference of +8
Juventus, 3rd position with 17 points and a positive goal difference of +8

AC Milan failed big time losing the Serie A Week 9 game against Juventus game to get back to the 1st position on Sunday 22 October 2023 at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.  This defeat sees Milan stepping down to the 2nd position with 21 points and Inter with 22 points gaining back the first position.   Juventus success sent the Bianconeri just -2 behind Inter.

In the final, it is goalkeeper Mirante who became the main protagonist, decisive on Cambiaso and Vlahovic, a double intervention that leaves the hope of a draw open, at least for a short time. Milan who played, tried, but paid dearly for Thiaw’s expulsion in the first half for a last man foul on Kean. Previously, great opportunity for Giroud, but splendid reflection from Szczesny.  Juventus took home three very important points from San Siro: the Bianconeri winning 0-1 thanks to Locatelli’s long-range shot, deflected by Krunic.

Tough first half for AC Milan remaining with 10 players since the 40th minute. Referee Maurizio Mariani sent off Malick Thiaw. The sacrificed is Christian Pulisic …. readjusting the team.

Juventus opened the score in the 63rd minute. Manuel Locatelli defeated AC Milan goalkeeper with a right-footed shot from to the center. The assist is by Timothy Weah.

✅   Stats before the game: Milan are coming off a series of five games without losing (3W, 2N) against Juventus in Serie A: they have not collected six in a row since the run of seven between 1986 and 1989 (3W, 4N), between under the guidance of Nils Liedholm and that of Arrigo Sacchi – Stefano Pioli could in fact become the first coach in Rossoneri history to collect six league games in a row without losing against the Juventus club. Milan have collected four clean sheets in the last five championship matches against Juventus: as many as those collected in the previous 22 matches against the Bianconeri; in particular, the Rossoneri have finished their last three matches against the Bianconeri in Serie A with a clean sheet and have not managed four consecutive matches since the 1988-1989 period. In eight of the last 11 matches at the Meazza in Serie A between Milan and Juventus, at least one of the two teams has not scored (in the last two the Juventus team missed out on scoring) – in this part, four wins for the Rossoneri, a draw, six victories for the Piedmontese. Milan – who won in the first match in October before the break 1-0 against Genoa – in the three previous seasons under the guidance of Stefano Pioli they have always won the first two matches played in this month of the year – in 2022 the second of the two matches it was against Juventus (2-0 in Milan).

👉 Lineup AC MILAN (4-3-3): Mirante; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Florenzi; Musah, Adli, Reijnders; Pulisic, Giroud, Leão.

👉 Lineup JUVENTUS (3-5-2): Szczęsny; Gatti, Bremer, Rugani; Weah, McKennie, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostić; Milik, Kean.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Atalanta, 8th position with 13 points and a positive goal difference of +5
Genoa, 15th position with 8 points and a negative goal difference of -2

Atalanta with a sprint race to climb to the top 5 positions won the Serie A Week 9 game on Sunday 22 October 2023 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy.   After the defeat at the Olimpico against Lazio, Atalanta got these three points to move closer to the European zone. Visiting them is a Genoa team that has always created problems this year against the teams at the top of the table.  A match that in the last two matches ended with a score of 0-0. There have been four draws in the last five matches.

In these first eight days of the championship, Genoa is the only team that has never repeated the same result in two consecutive matches: for the Ligurians two victories, two draws and four defeats, including the one against Milan in the last round .

Atalanta opened the score in the 72nd minute after the goal was validated following a VAR review. It is Ademola Lookman to defeat Genoa goalkeeper Nicola Leali from very close range with a right footed shot to the top right corner.

Stats before the game: Atalanta and Genoa have drawn in four of the last five Serie A matches (one victory for the Bergamo team in the period) and in particular three of these draws came with a score of 0-0, including the two matches of the 2021/22 championship. In the last 13 Serie A matches between Atalanta and Genoa, Grifone have won only once (3-1 in Genoa on 22 December 2018, with an own goal from Tolói, goals from Zapata, Lazovic and Piatek) – in the other 12 matches in the partial, four draws and eight Nerazzurri successes. Genoa have not won in Bergamo in the top championship since 10 January 2016 (2-0 with goals from Dzemaili and Pavoletti for the team then coached by Gian Piero Gasperini): after that Ligurian success, three victories for the Dea followed by three draws. Atalanta have collected three consecutive home clean sheets in the league and have not reached four in a row at home in Serie A since March 2017 (a series of five in that case) – in general, considering all competitions, the Dea has finished four matches with a clean sheet at home, more than any other Serie A team in the 2023/24 season.

👉Lineup ATALANTA (3-4-2-1): Carnesecchi – Scalvini, Djimsiti, Toloi – Zappacosta, De Roon, Ederson, Ruggeri – Lookman, De Ketelaere – Scamacca.

👉Lineup GENOA (3-5-2): Leali – Bani, Dragusin, Vasquez – Sabelli, Malinovskyi, Thorsby, Frendrup, Haps – Ekuban, Gudmundsson.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game
AS Roma, 11th position with 11 points and a positive goal difference of +7
Monza, 8 position with 12 points and a positive goal difference of +1

AS Roma won the Serie A Week 9 game beating Monza on Sunday 22 October 2023 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. It is an agonizing victory, a suffered match, but at the end Roma grabbed the full 3 points. Monza resisted playing with 10 players since the 41st minute after the expulsion of Danilo D’Ambrosio for a second yellow card.

Third consecutive victory for Roma, which provisionally rises to 6th place in the standings with 14 while Monza sees their streak of four consecutive useful results come to an end and also their unbeaten streak (climb in any case at 441 minutes) of goalkeeper Di Gregorio. Mourinho was sent off at the end and will thus miss the match against his former team Inter.

On Matchday 10,Roma will be guests of Inter at San Siro while Monza will play the home game against Udinese.

Finally, after 90 minutes, the goal arrived! It is forward Stephan El Shaarawy to defeat Monza goalkeeper with a right footed shot to the center.

Stats before the game  : Roma have obtained four points in two matches against Monza in Serie A: 3-0 win at the Olimpico on 30 August 2022 (first two goals for the Giallorossi by Paulo Dybala) and 1-1 draw at the U-Power Stadium last May 3rd. Roma have won the last two championship matches, as many as in the previous 14 Serie A matches (2W, 6N, 6L); in 2023 only once have the Giallorossi recorded three successes in a row in Serie A: in April (against Sampdoria, Torino and Udinese). Monza have won their last two championship matches, only twice have the Brianza players achieved three successes in a row in Serie A: last April and in the period between September and October 2022 (Palladino’s first three matches as coach in the tournament). Monza have not conceded a goal for 348 minutes: it is the longest run by a team without conceding a goal this season in the top five European leagues. The Brianza team could also record four clean sheets in a row for the first time in their history in Serie A.
