Sassuolo and Bologna ended the Serie A Week 10 game with a draw on Saturday 28 October 2023 at the Mapei Stadium in Sassuolo, Italy.  Sassuolo are -4 points below Bologna. With this result, Bologna rises to 15 points in the standings and is currently 7th alone, while Sassuolo reaches 11, four points behind the Bolognese. Salernitana crying out loud for salvation after losing the Serie A Week 10 game on Friday 27 October 2023 at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa, Italy.  Salernitana are in the relegation zone with only 4 points.  The good news is that Genoa claimed all 3 points and climbed the Standings. Genoa beat Salernitana 1-0 and returned to victory after three rounds. The decisive goal is by Albert Gudmundsson. Two posts hit by Salernitana with Retegui and Badelj. 👉    Hello, my friends. Here are the 2023-2024 Italian Serie A Serie A Week 9 RESULTS / Ninth Round on Saturday 21, Sunday 22, and Monday 23 October 2023.  The battle for the Scudetto is still neck-to-neck between Inter and AC Milan.   Inter with 22 points took the lead after defeating Torino.  AC Milan wasted the chance to remain in the 1st position stepping down to the 2nd position after losing against Juventus.   This means, that  now, it’s a 3-way race for the Scudetto between Inter, AC Milan, and Juventus.

Salernitana Coach Filippo Inzaghi made his debut with a draw after replacing coach Paulo Sousa.  Salernitana will face Cagliari who are also in the relegation zone.

The good news is that Empoli won the Tuscan Derby and left the relegation zone after defeating Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.   Empoli won their second game this season and climbed from the 18th to the 17th position.  The bad news is for Udinese because they went down to the 18th position and will have to recover to leave the relegation zone.

Empoli won the Serie A Week 9 game on Monday 23 October 2023 at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence, Italy. Empoli finally got their second game winning the Tuscan Derby. The match is constantly played at a high pace, with Fiorentina constantly maintaining control of the game, but with Empoli becoming almost always more dangerous thanks to the rapid counterattacks of their trident.

The victory also helped Empoli to leave the relegation zone. Empoli climbed from the 18th to the 17th position.

The match broke the deadlock in the 21st minute. Francesco Caputo defeated Fiorentina goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano with a right-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Alberto Grassi.

AC Milan failed big time losing the Serie A Week 9 game against Juventus game to get back to the 1st position on Sunday 22 October 2023 at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.  This defeat sees Milan stepping down to the 2nd position with 21 points and Inter with 22 points gaining back the first position.   Juventus success sent the Bianconeri just -2 behind Inter.

In the final, it is goalkeeper Mirante who became the main protagonist, decisive on Cambiaso and Vlahovic, a double intervention that leaves the hope of a draw open, at least for a short time. Milan who played, tried, but paid dearly for Thiaw’s expulsion in the first half for a last man foul on Kean. Previously, great opportunity for Giroud, but splendid reflection from Szczesny.  Juventus took home three very important points from San Siro: the Bianconeri winning 0-1 thanks to Locatelli’s long-range shot, deflected by Krunic.

Tough first half for AC Milan remaining with 10 players since the 40th minute. Referee Maurizio Mariani sent off Malick Thiaw. The sacrificed is Christian Pulisic …. readjusting the team.

Juventus opened the score in the 63rd minute. Manuel Locatelli defeated AC Milan goalkeeper with a right-footed shot from to the center. The assist is by Timothy Weah.

✅   Stats before the game: Milan are coming off a series of five games without losing (3W, 2N) against Juventus in Serie A: they have not collected six in a row since the run of seven between 1986 and 1989 (3W, 4N), between under the guidance of Nils Liedholm and that of Arrigo Sacchi – Stefano Pioli could in fact become the first coach in Rossoneri history to collect six league games in a row without losing against the Juventus club. Milan have collected four clean sheets in the last five championship matches against Juventus: as many as those collected in the previous 22 matches against the Bianconeri; in particular, the Rossoneri have finished their last three matches against the Bianconeri in Serie A with a clean sheet and have not managed four consecutive matches since the 1988-1989 period. In eight of the last 11 matches at the Meazza in Serie A between Milan and Juventus, at least one of the two teams has not scored (in the last two the Juventus team missed out on scoring) – in this part, four wins for the Rossoneri, a draw, six victories for the Piedmontese. Milan – who won in the first match in October before the break 1-0 against Genoa – in the three previous seasons under the guidance of Stefano Pioli they have always won the first two matches played in this month of the year – in 2022 the second of the two matches it was against Juventus (2-0 in Milan).
