New signing Alex Sandro meets fans at Juventus Stadium’s Megastore following his official unveiling on Monday afternoon
Alex Sandro was treated to a warm reception by supporters at Juventus Stadium’s Megastore, keen to seize the opportunity to meet and greet the Bianconeri’s new signing.
The Brazilian left-back began the afternoon outlining his ambitions to the media at the ground, before admiring his new surroundings from the comfort of the Agnelli terrace.
The 24-year-old would then have a chance to take in his new club’s illustrious history with a visit to Juventus Museum, before heading to the Stadium Megastore to the delight of the many fans waiting for signed shirts, autographs and selfies.
The talented left-back explains why the Bianconeri represent an ideal fit for his ambitions during this afternoon’s official unveiling as a Juventus player
Alex Sandro has revealed his determination to make a success of his move to Juventus after officially being unveiled as Bianconeri player at Juventus Stadium this afternoon.
The 24-year-old, who has signed a five-year contract, explained how he views his new club as the ideal location to continue his personal development and challenge for major honours.
He began: “Juventus was the perfect choice for me. Coming here will help me to grow as both a person and player. As a team, we’re working hard and will strive to win all the competitions we’re involved in this season.”
While under no illusions of the challenges that go hand in hand with switching countries, the former Porto man has set his sights on making a positive impact in his new surroundings.
“Serie A is a tough league and the most tactical in the world. I am sure that the experience will improve me as a footballer. I always give 100% to win. I’m confident I’ll be able to show my qualities both during games and on the training pitch.”
After arriving in Turin last Thursday, the Brazilian full-back is only just getting to know his team-mates but expressed his delight at joining a club he admitted to admiring since childhood.
“Playing here has always been a dream for me and now it’s coming true. As a boy, I loved watching (Alessandro) Del Piero and (David) Trezeguet in the black and white,” he said, adding that he looks up to Patrice Evra as one of his major inspirations in the game.
Having watched the Bianconeri’s opening match of the season against Udinese from the bench, Alex Sandro rounded off the press conference by stating his intentions to get his own campaign off and running next Sunday against Roma.
He concluded: “It will be a difficult match against a strong side, but I’m ready to play.”
Good morning my friends! Here are the front pages from Italy main Sports newspapers La Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere dello Sport, and Tutto Sport from Monday 24 August 2015.
What a surprising Monday morning! You bet Juventus fans must still be wondering how they lost the game at the Juventus Arena against Udinese. First time losing at home in a debut of the Serie A tournament and headlines are just a reminder…. Surely, I agree with Corriere dello Sport headlines asking whether it is a case or not after the departure of the three top players Andrea Pirlo, Carlos Tevez, and Arturo Vidal. Simply put, it will be a tough test for this “New Juventus.”
Another blow is AC Milan still struggling and defeated by Fiorentina.

First surprise of the round is to see Juventus defeated at the Juventus Arena. Yep, it’s just a bad start for this New Juventus losing the game after the goal by Cyril Thereau in the 78th minute. It’s a historical defeat because Juventus had not lost a home game a game at the Juventus Arena before.. ouch!
Another upset is the draw of AS Roma unable to defeat Hellas Verona at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium. A good start is for city rivals, Lazio who defeated Bologna claiming the full 3 points.
Big flop is for AC Milan falling at the Artemio Franchi Stadium. The so-called “New Milan” failing big time to redeem themselves. Milan starts the season with a defeat and being in the 19th position with a negative goal difference of -2. The rossoneri playing with 10 players since the 36th minute after defender Rodrigo Ely got a second yellow card.
